emm yeah it was officially cancelled for the time being as the market isint in the best place now but its simply put on hold as bungie refuse to do it unless its top notch, there will be a movie, its gonna cost millions but Halo 3 was the largest grossing videogame of all time $170 million dollars in the first day in the US and $300 million in europe in the 1st week, now you tell me the market isint there to produce it.
The biggest f*ckin difference between Halo story and Call Of Duty story is that they were forced to use way and way more imagination to create the Halo story and the whole universe you're playing in. And, yeah, I don't about you guys but in my world imagination is creativity. Which makes the whole Halo-saga far more creative than some real-life-story-copy called Call of Duty all of sudden. And I don't want reallity in videogames, I want imagination, with some realistic physics though.

Here's what I don't get, it's day time here and master chief is going pretty damn close through the planet's atmosphere. Halo 3 opens up in the night time and Chief crash lands in the night. Is Chief falling through the atmosphere ALL DAY?! and then crash lands at night? that seems very doubtful...

@madmanmastercheif, While Call of duty, Gears of War, etc are in my opinion better games by far. On the flip side Halo has the best story-line ever writting. Which makes for not only a Epic game, but if Microsoft ever realizes the best game/movie ever constructed. Why? It clearly has elements that we see in Star Wars, Trek, Ironman, and the list goes on, but what makes Halo different is the realistic element that the Spartan unit brings to the table.
yeah for those ppl that say games and movies dont go well. resident evil 1 was a nice movie, even though it didnt follow the regular story line and so was tomb raider 1. Halo should actually be and easy movie to follow because 1: the halo story's facts are straight and they don't drag on. they could follow the sequences from the game if they wanted. and 2: hello avatar they should make it like that.
It's pretty cool how the team supposed to make this movie got fired because the director was thought to be too young and inexperienced, but he made district 9, which was honestly better than the halo movie could have been. I mean honestly, name one actual good movie based off of a video game. The only remotely decent movie based off a video game I can think of is Avatar, and District 9 was better than that.

COD is still a terrific game and i really do enjoy playing it. in fact Cod seems to have a greater replay value and more extras than halo does. i love halo but i am already bored of Reach. COD has enough to do that i can keep it up for months to come. plus Zombies beats Halo's Firefight by a longshot

@61442 Might i add though, in the long run: Halo reach will become more popular. This is ONLY because of Halo Reach's Forge and Theater and file shares. Adding to that, more maps for Halo reach are coming. Not including the Noble map pack that is. The use of vehicles also makes halo, in a way, better for multiplayer.
While saying this though, I agree that COD's campaign beats Halo Reach's. I was disappointed with Halo Reach's single player. Both are still great games

There is nothing really fantasized or imaginative in CoD because it is based on REAL things going on. So if you like modern factual games, then CoD is the game. If you like fighting in space or on fictional landscapes, or using projectile weapons against plasma, then Halo is the game. Here is MY opinion: CoD is beat by all halo games except Halo Reach.

Where Halo is about space marines fighting aliens (a totally original concept that has never been done before), CoD follows the exploits of various forces (some based in fiction, some in real life) throughout the 20th and 21st century. CoD4 indeed, had the very original idea of having your player character canonically die during gameplay, and an entire level was developed around him slowly dying.

Dude, Black Ops sucked major balls in my opinion except the Nazi Zombies. Halo Reach and Halo Wars sucked in campaign but the multiplayer was amazing still (Halo Wars still wasnt so good) But Halo 1 and 2 STILL blow all of cod away. Halo 3, not so much. There is what i have to say. the only cod i enjoyed was Modern Warfare 2 and the Nazi Zombies part of Black Ops

1. The Halo movie is apparently still in production, with talks of Peter Jackson being the director. Stuart Beattie (spec script), Alex Garland (original screenplay) are the writers SO FAR.
2. What this trailer is is a bunch of clips from something called Halo Landfall, which is on XBox Live. These clips have nothing to do with how the actually Halo movie will turn out.
3. Halo Legends was a side-project, and is fucking awesome.
@RicebowlProductions1 I hope they keep it canon. Get the original guy who does the voice of Master Chief, Steve Downes, to reprise his role as Master Chief, then just got some stunt guy do wear the armor, that they HAVE TO CUSTOM MAKE FOR THE MOVIE.

They've been planning the movie for years, like someone said Peter Jackson was set to direct but the studios and writers involved never completed it on time so he lost the rights to it.

@madmanmastercheif, While Call of duty, Gears of War, etc are in my opinion better games by far. On the flip side Halo has the best story-line ever writting. Which makes for not only a Epic game, but if Microsoft ever realizes the best game/movie ever constructed. Why? It clearly has elements that we see in Star Wars, Trek, Ironman, and the list goes on, but what makes Halo different is the realistic element that the Spartan unit brings to the table.

yeah for those ppl that say games and movies dont go well. resident evil 1 was a nice movie, even though it didnt follow the regular story line and so was tomb raider 1. Halo should actually be and easy movie to follow because 1: the halo story's facts are straight and they don't drag on. they could follow the sequences from the game if they wanted. and 2: hello avatar they should make it like that.

It's pretty cool how the team supposed to make this movie got fired because the director was thought to be too young and inexperienced, but he made district 9, which was honestly better than the halo movie could have been. I mean honestly, name one actual good movie based off of a video game. The only remotely decent movie based off a video game I can think of is Avatar, and District 9 was better than that.

You can't possibly tell someone else that they're wrong for thinking the gameplay of one game is better than the other.
I will admit that Halo has a good story, and I know that the gameplay is good, but in my opinion it just can't touch CoD.

@phocjame though i agree with MATT that Halo is a better game, i disagree with his statements about gaming. COD is still a terrific game and i really do enjoy playing it. in fact Cod seems to have a greater replay value and more extras than halo does. i love halo but i am already bored of Reach. COD has enough to do that i can keep it up for months to come. plus Zombies beats Halo's Firefight by a longshot
honestly if it weren't for the campaign, i would choose COD over Halo

@61442 Might i add though, in the long run: Halo reach will become more popular. This is ONLY because of Halo Reach's Forge and Theater and file shares. Adding to that, more maps for Halo reach are coming. Not including the Noble map pack that is. The use of vehicles also makes halo, in a way, better for multiplayer.
While saying this though, I agree that COD's campaign beats Halo Reach's. I was disappointed with Halo Reach's single player. Both are still great games

@phocjame okay, really guys? CoD is OF COURSE more realistic than Halo, however.... The Halo series is more imaginative and creative. There is nothing really fantasized or imaginative in CoD because it is based on REAL things going on. So if you like modern factual games, then CoD is the game. If you like fighting in space or on fictional landscapes, or using projectile weapons against plasma, then Halo is the game. Here is MY opinion: CoD is beat by all halo games except Halo Reach.

Video games are supposed to be unrealistic. And if you think the COD story, any of them, are better than Halo, you are the dullest person on earth. Also if you think gameplay is better, then you, again, are dead wrong. Anyways, these are only small factors in a good video game, and Halo wins in every single one of them

@phocjame "Fun" can be defined in different ways. Some people play mainly for multiplayer, others play because of the story. Halo uses imagination, which is appealing to a lot of gamers. Why else do you think a platform game from the 90s(Super Metroid) is still accepted by millions as the best game ever made? Imagination(unrealism) IS relevant. That is why I said "dull" when referring to COD players. I'm sure at least 70% of them haven't even finished single player and only play online

@MATTx602 CoD also uses imagination, it just uses it differently to Halo. Where Halo is about space marines fighting aliens (a totally original concept that has never been done before), CoD follows the exploits of various forces (some based in fiction, some in real life) throughout the 20th and 21st century. CoD4 indeed, had the very original idea of having your player character canonically die during gameplay, and an entire level was developed around him slowly dying.

Dude, Black Ops sucked major balls in my opinion except the Nazi Zombies. Halo Reach and Halo Wars sucked in campaign but the multiplayer was amazing still (Halo Wars still wasnt so good) But Halo 1 and 2 STILL blow all of cod away. Halo 3, not so much. There is what i have to say. the only cod i enjoyed was Modern Warfare 2 and the Nazi Zombies part of Black Ops

Jesus fucking christ. This is addressed to EVERYONE:
1. The Halo movie is apparently still in production, with talks of Peter Jackson being the director. Stuart Beattie (spec script), Alex Garland (original screenplay) are the writers SO FAR.
2. What this trailer is is a bunch of clips from something called Halo Landfall, which is on XBox Live. These clips have nothing to do with how the actually Halo movie will turn out.
3. Halo Legends was a side-project, and is fucking awesome.

@RicebowlProductions1 I hope they keep it canon. Get the original guy who does the voice of Master Chief, Steve Downes, to reprise his role as Master Chief, then just got some stunt guy do wear the armor, that they HAVE TO CUSTOM MAKE FOR THE MOVIE.
They better not try to CGI some of the key elements in Halo, or we are going to have problems.
Having Sam Worthington as Master Chief, as much as I like him as an actor, it wouldn't matter who plays Master Chief because they can't show his face.

if they were to make one it should start at the end of reach where n-6 delivers the package and as they fly away you see him shoot at the corvette's center. that could be used as a flashback where cortana was talking to chief about how this war started and how it would hopefully end........
