Hey, what a wonderful thing you are doing. I've always wanted to go to Europe but I'm a real lifetime non smoker and have asthma and other allergies. It would be so nice to finally get to go places like other people. I have to stay out of places that have smoke and unfortunately that doesn't leave me much choice in the fun department. Actually, here in Hong Kong we've found a bizarre (yet... predictable) effect of the smoking ban. MORE kids getting exposed to lots of second hand smoke because their parents are staying in rather than going out. I assume that means more parties at people's houses.

Odd. Bars have lost business, mahjong parlors lost nearly HALF their clientele.

Still, probably for the better in the long run.

Good job! I own a small tavern in the U.S. When we do make our customers go outside to the smoking patio, all of the nonsmokers go outside, too! Some areas in California have recently begun making whole cities smoke-free, which would include every place except residential homes.

This is in my opinion a step towards banning/criminalizing tobacco period/full stop.

I've noticed the fact that all you can smell in clubs nowadays in body odour and people's farts too. It's nasty. I suppose it'll be alright if people start to realise and wash more, but I don't suppose that'll happen anytime soon.

Haven't they started introducing fragrances into fancy clubs air systems to help cover this smell? I heard they were actually trialing a smoke smell! lol

Pretty funny video. I love the fact that smokers are so bitter about the ban, what a switch. The only problem with the ban is they should have opened up smoke shops complete with legal and taxed marijuana. Then tobacco smokers could also have a place to sit back, relax, and enjoy their tea or coffee, read a newspaper and smoke to their hearts content.

Very funny. I do have to pick up on one issue though. When Roy Castle was diagnosed with lung cancer, questions were asked. He had performed regularly in smoke filled clubs, so they said he was killed by second hand smoke. Was he? There are thousands of musicians and singers who have regularly performed in smoke filled clubs, Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk, Chris Barber, Cleo Lane, Humphrey Lyttelton, Eric Delaney, and the list could go on and on.

You can see when a person dies in a crash, it is a scietific fact that lung cancer is not only caused by tobacco smoke. So because one person out of thousands gets lung cancer, and they played in smoky clubs, you ban smoking. In response to doodlebugamy's comments. You have missed the point of the arguments completely. I am a smoker... I also appreciate non-smokers rights to breathe in clean air in a warm environment. The favour is not returned by the smoking police though, is it? Where would be the problem with an "enclosed" shelter where only smokers go? Non smokers wouldn't be affected and I'd get to have a cigarette in warmth. This is a simple solution which seems to evade the narrow minded anti smoking brigade.
