  • There is some great stuff there, Dave. You're a great Blender artist. Glad you're on our side.

  • Thank you! (the dark side was strong, but I was stronger... or something like that)

  • @agent47crows Well, I'm surprised when anyone mistakes me for one of the "good guys," but I digress...

  • Being the bad guy is only relative, I guess.

OK, no more philosophy, it puts my brain on a loop.

  • @agent47crows Well, as George Lucas said, "No one who is truly evil ever thinks they are doing evil. They always think they are doing the right thing."

    Loop that.

  • WHOA! THAT WAS COOL! ESPECIALLY AT THE Beginning!! AND END!!! AND MIDDLE!!! LOL, howd you do the monkey one??????? THAT was awesme, make a tut plz!!!

  • Hey dude, this is awesome! Can you make some sort of tutorial on how you do all those particle effects?

  • Spectacular and visually beautiful work there Dave. Kepp doin' that thing you do...please!

  • Hey, thanks!

  • Hey, great work! I've seen the video multiple times, but never got around to commenting! You should do a tutorial for some of the killer particle effects, I'd love to know how to some of them :) Also, post some more vids of you and your guitar playing! Talk later,

    Blender3danimator

  • Thanks man!

Well, for the heck of it I can't figure out why they changed the particle system in newer versions. It's too complicated from the beginning, then it requires some tweaking just to tweak it (sounds ridiculous, but it is true).

Anyway, RIGHT now I am trying to figure out an old trick I did and forgot how to.

    See ya!

  • No problem!

I hate how they change things so drastically in newer versions of Blender. Instead of updating it, they like REDO the whole thing. Hope you can figure something out! :)

    See ya!

  • Amazing work! I enjoy your tutorials too and have learned a lot. It's gonna take a long while before I dare show you my work;> Keep 'em coming.

  • Thanks!

Now come on, show your work to the people. (look at my OLD videos, like the first 10 or so... not really 21st century-worthy)

  • IT! has be 1 year or so since you posted this AND! now I am finally commenting on it.. ha ha... Awesome video! I really liked the particle waves flowing around. I'm guessing it's nVidia tech there. I saw Suzanne though, R.I.P. he he he...

  • Please could u do a tutorial for the ending where the text turns to liquid

  • Well, basically, just render 1 frame with the solid text.

Then, render a whole animation with the baked fluid. (watch the tutorial on my page about fluid simulations if you don't know how to start)

  • hi agent47crows how do you get your writting to turn into liquid & fall. i've tried making a line of text turn into fluid and fall but the letters are either a long block of water or many blocks around each letter. they fall as blocks rathr then defind letters. if you can help please comment thanks.

  • Dude, you either didin't convert (Alt+C) to mesh after doing the text, or you set the resolution too low.

Try converting and getting the domain @ 64.

  • hey agent47crows the tip about the resolution helped, but it isn't as clear as your writting. Anyway i've just posted it so please checkout my vid and tell me wat ya think.

p.s. i put the resolution upto 300 coz lower then that made the writting merge together.

  • Hi, bye the way your tutorials a great.

now my question is: is gelato faster than your cpu? how much faster? do u think u will use it more often than other renderengines?

    thx. and keep on rocking!!!

  • Dude, thanks.

Well, Gelato wasn't quite the best thing that appeared for me, since the time difference between the Blender Internal and Gelato is not really that big on my PC, I don't know why.

But no, I quit Gelato for this PC, I will upgrade (because my CPU is the oldest thing in my PC).

Nowadays I use Blender Internal and YafRAY 0.0.9 .

*but I will always stick with nVIDIA technology.

  • 0:24, the water is amazing in here along with the particles, nice!!

  • Aye, thanks.

  • im inspired 5/5

  • Thanks.

  • how did u get the particles to flow like that?

  • sorry, at 0:32

  • I used a vortex which I placed waaaaaay below, with a high fall-off value and a low strength value.

  • Hey very good Dave. I have made a demoreel (incomplete) with blender and other things and I'm very good (for a 13 year old guy then).

  • Really well done. How did you get Gelato to work with Blender?

  • Well, I found an unstable python script on the Blender Forums (blenderartists(dot)org).

Just search for Gelato, and you'll find something. I think it's on the 5th page.

  • pretty impressive! I liked those Bioshock references.

  • Yea, good! :))

  • Gee, thanks for the positive feedback... surely didn't expect that.

  • Pure awesomeness.

  • This looks amazing bro. its Pure visual Candy!

  • Thanks.

  • wow very nice love the effects and sync is really good goodjob

  • Remember the DAVID puzzle experience?

Thought it'll be good if you saw them in order, aye!

Too bad I only focused on audio sync and not actual best renders.
