I have seen a concert, and I thought than I go out from the concert hall. He can't play well, doesn't know which scales are good, he plays shit notes when he plays fast.(but the other musicians are professional).
You've essentially said Miles Davis has no idea which scales are good as Erik Truffaz plays in exactly the same way as Miles in his fusion period, and his music is an expansion of that. The fact that you've said that shows that you're completely closed-minded to the world of jazz.
I love his music.I saw them live some months ago at Budapest at A38 and the drummer was so funny.He was fooli'n arond with the drumkit and the sampler.Unfortunately at that time Marcello Giulliani was not playing bass.After listening to Truffaz and Bugge Wesseltoft i must say that skandinavian and french contemporary jazz is really good...

Bending new corners is a very nice album. I agree about the drummer, he us great. Find J'taime a bit misplaced though
