Got here via YouTube Mix for Hawkwind & was answering someones question as it went on to next video ... now their comment has disapeared :( Sorry don't know how it happened but it wasn't intensional.

  • Call me a hippy, but this totally rocks!

  • great music,

  • psicodelia

  • I've seen these cats dozens of times, my mates band supported them a few times - which sort of made me a roadie for them. If you like this, then search youtube for Bardo Pond Lords of Light.... you'll like that too.

  • Comment removed

  • Saw them 5 times, must be a space cadet!

    :-)

  • i was once

  • I've listened to this song about a zillion times now and still not even vaguely tired of it. It has such a terrific main melody riff.

    Yeehah! Just plain, "Wow!!!"

  • Yesterday got laid while listening to this song, it's funny i searched it in YouTube before calling her ROFLMAO

  • @Leonardotupapa jacoland

  • that's not bad, might check this band out

  • long live lemmy

  • @rightonpawpaw Lemmy played this live a few times, but IIRC he joined Hawkwind shortly after the album this song is on came out.

  • Poor Chadbapple123 you are an arse

  • Hawkwind's best track imho.........Pilton/Stonehenge/Chipping Sodbury, crazy drug fuelled times - stumbling from tent to tent, sampling the hash, speed, acid, opium, tunoil - crikey I amazed I'm still here - good times.

  • First band I ever saw live. Guildford Civic Hall 1974.

  • 11 people have never taken acid, i guess..

  • Poor Chadbapple123 He missed the fun bus again. what does he do now ? Write poetry about dogs trained to use toilets on outhouse walls around abandoned warehouses? I think he's happy now.

  • @chadbapple123

you must have seen them at windsor free festival then.

  • @tropicaldan he,s a septic ,he cant see any further than his sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I AIN'T

    EVEN

    MAD!!!!! >:D

  • @chadbapple123 for your information you cant do to much Acid ask GOD I Know cause he told me

  • @psychedelicmindfield once anything starts putting one's regulatory functions (especially serotonin, dopamine, other neurotransmitters) out of balance, shit starts getting weird. I can easily take LSD for days, or several times a month, and "feel fine" and be "functional"....but my circadian rhythms go out the window, my appetite takes a hike, and I get sooo moody. Nothin I can do about simple neurochemistry. Know your body, know your mind. Listen and moderate. Serotoninn

  • @11Frodo11 I met Gollum coming the other way an he say no moderation go for it man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

  • @psychedelicmindfield gollum is a fictional character if you met him you must have been in the storybook story of your life the mans talking sense!! why dont you get off the stage and leave us in peace

  • @psychedelicmindfield lol, where from all this shit about seeing god in acid? In acid you kinda god, cause you know everything. And you truly know, that there is no other gods.

  • @nazibalance you kinda god! shows that you have some way to go on the path to enlightenment, try getting your kundalini raised by a person that is qualified and has ;the correct credentials, this will set you on the right track to knowing yourself

  • @chadbapple123 Haha

  • Seen them live in the early 70's, 5 rows back centre stage. I've seen so many bands I've lost count but this was the most of the most. It took the 6 of us who went 3-4 days to come down from lol, awesome days, :).

  • what was did the jacket say? something about the captain being dead? I never played this straight, so I don't remember much about the cover.

  • Rock on, Brock.

  • /watch?v=_3tBlJMPeeA

  • Just got the original In Search of Space for less than 1$ in great condition! A very lucky find =)

  • Whenever I hear this tune I always remember being in my bedroom sniffing tippex thinners trying to get high! Well I was 13 years old.

  • ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this group. Dave Brock is like 64 years old and it doesn't even matter because the show is about the music and the show, not individual stars. Fucking fantastic music.

  • @SovietTelevision Dave Brock will be 70 this August! Long may he continue!

  • Woah!

  • Ooof, acid is awesome! This music is proof enough.

  • 9 People were too stoned to click the right hand (well the left hand, but you know what i mean...)

  • fuck yeaah!

    love it!

    love to all!

    love for all!

  • Hands up all those who thought the lyrics were written for them :-)

  • I want to eat this song. Some of you will know what I mean.

  • ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND!!!!!

  • This band has realy stood the test of time. Saw them in the mid 70's "Space Ritual" tour in Brum. UK. Epic hypnotic power. So glad their hard work on the road has paid off....they will out live many other great bands of this era.

  • @Kristopful Ah... The Brum Odeon.... what an ace venue to begin exploring the cosmic brilliance of rock and metal in the 70's... My first gig was AC/DC back in 1978 and I caught Hawkwind there in 1980... great days!! Rock n ROLLLL!!

  • @JohnPersonage Saw Ozzy there in 72 also saw judas preist and slade as a back up band to hawkwind wonderful days.

  • One world...epic!

  • i saw them live at aurora paramont theater

  • Hawkwind he ultimate spaceout music

  • I saw hawkwind when I was just 14 yr o at Stevenage Bowes-lyon it was great!

They played 'Be yourself','Hurry on Sundown' (the drummer was stripped-down to his underpants..it was a tremendous night..it really made an impression on my growing up in a New Town (you see you never know if you are amking an impact on someone-altering the course of their life).I went again in the 'Silver machine' phase at Dunstable,me and Jon (miller) tried to get 'stoned' on ciggarettes. What happened to them??

  • its all a figment of my mind, tried keeping myself together with those words quite alot taking acid!!!! still here

  • yea!! good version! thank you for sharing!

  • This was top of the line psychedelia at the time. I sent some artwork to Hawkwind shortly after. It was mentioned briefly in the liner notes of a later album that they were hard pressed to keep up with that kind of stuff. Anyone just having a beer and tired of watching lady gaga may never fully appreciate the vibe in the Good olde Days. lol

  • @TheSynthZone _ never been more succinctly put.

  • gorgeous

  • i know my bloke said he met him and all he did was play the fruit machines and he still owes him a tenner lol

  • Anyone know where I can find the album (cd) the zenon codex from Hawkwind loved it was stolen from me yrs. back can't find it anywhere ultamate space out music smoke a bowl.

  • @damageplan67 Xenon Codex so look out for x instead of z! It was one of the Cherry Red/Esoteric remasters released last year. Check their website but if not try amazon.

  • @quarkwrok thanks for the info dude.

  • Love Hawkwind saw them twice best concert ever seen.I am 50 and they should be in the Rock hall of fame. But who cares true fans rule...

  • I saw Hawkwind Live at the Winning Post in Twickenham in the early 70.s they were and are great

  • great all the best from RobotRuss

  • please go on my chanel and look at the hawkwind cover :) thanks!!

  • ohh, ACID Rock. How i love it.

  • Not only is Lemmy not a god ,he's not even playing on here. The bass player is Dave Anderson ,Lemmy ,who was a lead guitarist at the time took over from Dave!!!!

  • Lemmy was a God down the St Moritz Club in Wardour Street - He never got off the f*cking fruit machines. What a dancefloor that place had.

Thankyou Bernie for introducing me to the place.

Don't know if Hans and Sweetie are still about/

  • HAWKWIND and EARTH CULTURE where the best new age band of their time without a doubt.

  • Good times the 70´s, very kool psicodélic. with mary jane forever.

  • Good times the 70´s, very kool psicodélic.

  • This is not the original version of this tune.I heard another group do it in a slightly more "spacey'Beat. These guys claimed they were from Zoltara and they wanted to teach an earth band the tune. They wanted my input and of course I said..............................HAWKWIND

  • Love that hook! Hawkwind were great. I like to think they are kind of a bit stoner rock heavy on the psychadelia although I guess I'm probably the only person in the world who would class them that way. Is killmeister on this track? I seem to think he joined after this album.

  • Anybody know what an In Search of Space album in excellent condition is worth?

  • @whalerwal It would be about $25 US in mint condition.

  • OK, disregard my previous entry--just saw the VERY poignant video clip for "We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago." Should have checked first! Proudly sharing the song on my Facebook page, and it's good to see from the other comments that other people appear to love the song as much as I do. Cheers!

  • Hey--will someone please do a video for "We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago"? I don't know if anyone's with me on this, but it's my favorite Hawkwind song of all time. Sweet memories of the summer of 1972! Peace/Love......

  • This is exactly the kind of music the Master Of The Universe whanted to hear when He created Space

  • Saw these guys live at UEA in Norwich in the early '90's

You could get high on the atmosphere...literally

    Good stuff

  • " When you know what is Really nothing you will know Everything. "

The " external " universe is an illusion. Check us out.

    - Michael St.Mark / @ London Dada.

  • song acid rock..... lemonade!!!!!

  • Except this isn't the original! I remember an earlier version from a series of live albums called "The Greasy Trucker", which I only heard once. The track was a lot slower, heavier and more psychedelic. I first saw them live, on the same bill as the Pink Fairies, in a pub in Abbey Wood, South East London UK for ten bob (thats 50p to you!). We came away with our ears ringing and a new lifestyle. Followed both bands ever since.

    Happy Daze.

  • @CreepyReid cool

  • @CreepyReid cool

  • @CreepyReid

This is definitely the original version, from the In Search of Space album. Greasy Truckers was from a series of live recordings from the Roundhouse and came a year or so later...great album too.

I saw Hawkwind and the Fairies together many times in the early 70's...great days

  • @CreepyReid Right on fight on dude !! I was listening to What A Bunch Of Sweeties the other day.

I remember nearly paying about £30 for The Greasy Truckers Album back in the 80's Twink did some pretty good stuff with Bevis Frond too as I recall .

  • @CreepyReid Dude they never played the same song, same way, twice...seen 'em live too many times to remember...Stone henge comes to mind, as they played this an RAF chopper was overhead, couldn't hear it over the music. but in the stop bit ...it threw it's lights on.....man it was like Roswell...People were runnin' all over..I just rolled another one...

  • @CreepyReid sweet mate, if it was live then it wud never be the same.! nice!

  • @CreepyReid I think the song you're referring to is the one(or atleast the same sound) on the Space Ritual 1996(?) remix. there's a great, slow version of this one there, I think it's recorded live at Roundhouse.

  • @CreepyReid Yes it IS the original off the 'In Search of Space' album, which I bought new and still have (with the psychedelic geometrically cut sleeve). They did a FREE live show in a park in the middle of York around that time, and I also saw them at York Uni'...wonderful. :)

  • @CreepyReid Yes it IS the original off the 'In Search of Space' album, which I bought new and still have (with the psychedelic geometrically cut sleeve). It has been cut short here though. They did a FREE live show in a park in the middle of York around that time, and I also saw them at York Uni'...wonderful. :)

  • toujour aussi bon, je pense à Stacia la danseuse du groupe

HAWKWIND , un groupe qui nous entrainent dans nos réves d'évasions les plus fou avec sa musique, et quelle musique !

    Mithra

  • Why am I the only one of my compatriots that remembers the Elric Saga? I'm old.

  • @devekut2

    Well I remember it,

So we must both be old

  • Groovy baby, yeah!

  • I am the centre of this universe The wind of time is blowing through me And it's all moving relative to me, It's all a figment of my mind In a world that I've designed I'm charged with cosmic energy Has the world gone mad or is it me? I am the creator of this universe And all that it was meant to be So that we might learn to see This foolishness that lives in us And stupidity that we must suss How to banish from our minds If you call this living I must be blind
  • Ear'ole orgasm - you never forget that bassline

  • hawkwind one of the greatest bands ever

  • Had this on my 8-track in my Dodge Demon in the mid-seventies. What Killer music that was back in the day.... Cruisin and listening to Hawkwind........

  • fuckin ' brilliant.

Reminds me of my mis-spent youth of the late 70's, lol.

  • the space ritual tour has never been beten . I guess you had to be a teenager in 1972. Lemmy WAS GOD but they all went down hill from then never again to reach those heights

  • im very stoned

  • @tropicaldren Thanks for this post...brings back great memorys of them doing the live "space ritual" album/concert, which I saw.

This was out of the box then and still is. Great memorys of of a great band....this band used to leave, and let people leave play their own instruments at festivals....till people took the "piss" and stole all their equipment. With that they had enough and retired. What a fukin shame on those idiots who did that.!! Stupid, evil, trash...sub humans.

  • @Kristopful

Yes they did... I was at Windsor Free Festival, on stage, on pink microdot, and playing a spare set of tom toms during the Hawkwind set.....

    Amazing days !

  • @tropicaldan - lucky experience for you! :D

  • @teddybundy118

    What an uncool post.

You were not there old chap, there were in fact three of us on stage that evening, none of us band members... all friends of the original drummer Terry 'Boris' Ollis. In those days I could ride the London underground on pink microdot.. playing tom toms was a piece of cake.

I also suspect your an American imposter with that homophobic faggot comment.

Great days, despite fools like you

  • @teddybundy118

Yer ego is showing .. cof.

  • @teddybundy118 Wasn't the sacking something to do with a large quantity of Amphetamines in a suitcase at customs ? Or is that an Urban Myth ?

  • @tropicaldan Amazing days indeed i was at Windsor on Pink microdot too Hawkwind

    were awesome & on a different planet & so was i !!!!

    Colourful days !
