Shias DO NOT take partners to Allah (SWT). This is a BIG misconception! We use the Imams as a way to gain closeness to Allah (SWT). What better way to Allah then through the infallible family of the Prophet (PBUH).

We do NOT pray to Imam Hussein (AS), we mourn his tragedy and seek closeness to him spiritually. We also make Du'a to Allah (SWT), but through the Ahlul Bayt because they are closest to Allah (SWT).
