Do you bot remove the dead traps? And do you plan on getting other kinds of VFTs I'm guesing toy may have a typical there but look like a b-52 to me there are many :)
@swat007jp Every year in mid March, I remove the dead traps. Most will just pull off and are crumbly. The other dead parts, I just cut off. If you wish to see this same pot after the plants have done their summer growing, take a look at my video, Venus Flytraps Love Gold. There you can see the dramatic change the plants go through each year. It is almost hard to believe, but it is true.
@StudioVibe Of course now there are hundreds of red traps and no black whatsoever. I may do a short video update on these plants as they look now. If you check my page you can see a couple of very good videos done on this pot last year about this time.
@StudioVibe I thought you might like to look at these same VFTs as they looked just recently. If you want to see the stark contrast they go during the growing season, see my newest video "Venus Flytraps Love Gold." I think you will be most surprised at the changes.
@CousinSusie Well, they always look terrible early on and then later by mid-summer, they are simply beautiful, at least in my eyes. They have been called by some to be "The most magnificent plant" in the world. They are really the only meat eating plants with the ability to move rather quickly to catch their prey which are mostly flying insects. Thanks for your comment Susan.
