they couldnt land on the roof due to the unknown structural stability of the building at the time and its a good thing they didnt because obviously the building was not structuraly safe

I have to agree but also dissagree. I'm sure it crossed the fire cheifs minds. However, (and I am not saying anything against the US) the debry and smoke from the towers could have cloged the engines. The structure of the tower was aready superheated and weakening every minute so if a copper landed on the top there is no telling what could have happend to the structure.

Helicopters ( even those TV helicopters that were buzzing around ) could have been used to evac stuck people off the towers from the roofs. It's sad that instead of doing this, they were more concerned with getting the best footage of the attacks.
