those graphics are amazing! my computer doesnt come anywhere near that! nice vid, that was some smooth flying. ive seen my shares of strike fighter squadron one-two-two demo practices at NAS Lemoore during USNSCC basic&advanced airman summer trainings there, and let me just say: well done on the vid. best fsx f18 vid ive ever seen
that was brilliant, very well done. if only VRS released an F/A-18F Super Hornet this demo would have been perfect! I absolutely loved the maneuver at 7:05 in part 1, looked identical to the one in real life
@Steino1912 thanks! Yeah, a guess when the tac pac comes out they will be working on releasing an F model. At that point, i will remake this for a final time.
@strikeeagle345 No need to re-do (altho if you make another video, I'm sure I'll watch!) because for 2011 the Navy is using both the E and F models for the Super Hornet tac demos.
I tried to mimic an airshow with the acceleration hornet but it was not even in the same league as this. How'd you get the timing down so perfectly and what is your pc specs to make the game runs so smoothly? If you don't mind my asking..lol.
@AdamB9098 Well the acceleration hornet has the worst possible flight model. This VRS Super Hornet has an extremely accurate flight model, thus I was able to fly the exact demo. The timing is all about practice. I have flown this demo hundreds of times, HUNDREDS. It just takes practice and lots of research to find out altitudes/ speeds/ AoA, ect. As for PC specs, they are in the video description, and all the settings are maxed in FSX, REX 2.0 with OD, and in the ACM for the super hornet.
@strikeeagle345 That's very surprising that you are using the 'stock' flight model. When I try the demo maneuvers, I don't have anything like the pitch rates you achieve (particularly in the negative-G nose over maneuvers). I also have next to no rudder authority at any speed, and so I can't fly the rudder roll, vertical pirouette or loaded roll. Then again, I'm using a gamepad and keyboard commands; maybe you can do those moves with a stick/throttle/rudder pedal set up.
nicely done, strikeeagle. great flying.
