After watching lots of MvC3 games, I actually become more sick of Wolverine other than Phoenix. It's a lot more fun to watch some fancy teams like Clockwork's or fancy combo like Combofiend's.
However, I still respect Justin Wong for making Wolverine super effective though.

Wolverine makes me more salty than Dark Phoenix. At least you can snap that bitch in and kill her before she is dark and level 3 xfactor is more of the problem with her. Wolverine is just a fucking joke from the beginning of the match and he can kill your entire team with level 2 xfactor and 2 characters with level 1

@BluMan56 Kind of, Dark Phoenix is like a projectile master in a sense. She has projectile traps, homing projectiles, fast projectiles, and even her basice punches and kicks shoot projectiles and she can teleport. With X-Factor up she is also the single hardest hitting character in the game (even hits harder than sent and hulk i believe). she has downsides though for starters she has the lowest HP out of ANY character in a fighting game, and Phoenix can only go Dark Phoenix with 5 bars
@BluMan56 and Phoenix dies horrifcally quick, forcing a swap to Phoenix early in the match can mean Dark Phoenix will be taken out before she even shows which puts the opponent down a member and real powerhouse. And w/o X-Factor or her Ultra "Healing Field" Dark Phoenix's health drops on its own. Even with her downs most people will say her positives far outweigh her bad. I never worry about her I try to X her out early on and if i dont most i can hope for is him to make a mistake with her.

But when it comes to playing against the best, for big money, why would you handicap yourself by not using the character that you think gives you the best chance to win? You think they are trying to prove anything? These are great players, period. They don't need Phoenix to win, but if putting her on your team gives you a better chance of beating the next guy, especially if he's using phoenix, why wouldn't you?
What I'm still wondering is, why Viscant did not cancel the st.H into Iron Man's level 3 during Dormammu's super flash at about 0:58:54 Granted he still won that round but his Dark Phoenix did get hit later on, which could have made him lose if Fchamp had converted it to a combo. Who knows, if Fchamp got punished with a level 3 like that he may have folded under pressure and lost the next round instead of winning it. Props to both players though.

@Kinglsy I see where you comin from, there's no arguing dante has way more moves, but I think the numerous possibilities with summoned swords and darkslayer would more than make up for that, and I think you overestimate their similarities, the only thing similar to dante is his force edge moves, and killer bee I guess, if they added him he would be primarily yamamato
I'm just happy that there was so much more variety this time around than when I saw MvC2. This is the first time I've seen MvC3 in tournament play, and it was pleasing to see more than the standard Mag/Sto/Sen characters. B-O-R-I-N-G. That's not to dig on anyone's skills, really…I, and I'm sure other people, are welcoming this change of pace.
Nothing has changed, its still Mags Sentinel and Storm. But now, its just a few more characters that are in the fav list. Any MvC game will have the normal top tier characters, you just have to fight it out. VDO played Rogue/Ken/Csus in MvC2 and beat alot of top tier characters such as MSP, Santhrax etc. Dont trash MvC2, as that game was more balanced than MvC3. X-factor should not be in the game, if it wasnt you would see more HARD WORK to win as in MvC2.
MvC2 was more balanced, because the engine made the game more balanced. If you meant the actual characters, then yea it was lopsided to Marvel. But even still, in MvC3 there is too much that feels uncomfortable playing, such as going up for a air combo and due to positioning you drop combos. In MvC2, once an air combo is started, the game automatically aligns the character to perform the air combo. How many times have people dropped air combos in MvC3? Too many...
And to follow up with the air combo issue, many people drop air combos because when they launch they are not positioned right which leads to dropped combos. That wouldnt happen in MvC2, because you were aligned to finish the combo. The ENTIRE MvC series is based on air combos for the most part. So in MvC3, you have a game that creates an uncomfortable air combo system which leads to far too many dropped air combos. Thats an huge part of MvC, and they just FD it up...

It's simply that these guys have still not developed effective anti-Phoenix technology. And more often than not, they fail at the obvious anti-Phoenix tactic: snap in and kill. It's important to remember the game is still in its infancy, and also to "marvel" (ouch) at how far the players have come since the game has launched. Everyone seems to forget this.
@PisceanAge I know that she has to be snapped in, but I still don't like her. She was just a bad idea. But with that said, I know she can be beaten, but it's really hard to make use of the 1, maybe 2 chances to hit her after she gets snapped in. Especially when in the hands of a high level player that knows how to block very well. I still consider her a free win button.
