Did you use a drum machine? It sounds like the drums are muffled and the kick drum really overpowers your mix, and if that was intentional I'd really suggest against it lol. As for the actual music, well done. Original for sure.
@wiedemaster Try EZdrummer and the drumkitfromhell extension, if you're anti-piracy you'll have to spend a few (or more) bucks to purchase it but I just downloaded it, anyway it works great I highly recommend it!
@wiedemaster While you're right it's basically up to personal preference, and if you prefer to use logic then power to you, but if you really want your mixes to sound more professional you'll need a better suited drum machine than logic's default. Also, being in a band and writing/producing all kinds of electronic stuff myself I know how easy it is to see someone's criticism and think "It sounds fine the way it is!" but it is very rewarding to take the extra steps for a clean mix :)
@ScottySolace No, I mean if you're good with Logic and put a lot of time into it, you can make the drums sound very realistic, I only spent a few minutes on my mixes. I've looked at EZdrummer, though and you're right, it is better, lol. I might get it, but my priority is to get decent orchestral sounds first... What sort of stuff do you play? I've seen your Ibanez 7 string, I have one, too..
@wiedemaster Orchestral sounds? Try Nexus, or a smaller download Orchestral. Nexus is good for all-around purposes though so I'd recommend both haha. I play a lot of progressive/"djent" metal, fused with post-hardcore and black/death/doom influences. Our band is currently in F-A#-F-A#-D#-F-C (Drop F and Drop A# double dropped), we really like extended tunings and plan on getting 8 strings when we get the money.
@wiedemaster Not yet, my band has had quite a few issues so far, but we're pulling through slowly. We just lost our other guitarist because he's too busy to commit, our drummer is still in the band but he's in a similar position, and my hands have been getting arthritis-like symptoms for the past year and I'm trying to battle that.. so no gigs yet, but maybe soon lol. We're definitely serious, and write a lot of music, but we just haven't played in front of an audience yet.
@wiedemaster Yeah, well, sort of. We combine a lot of melodic hardcore riffs with meshuggah type riffs, usually coming out sounding like a mix between Periphery and Bury Your Dead.
@wiedemaster I love funeral doom! But when it comes to playing guitar, I'm a little impatient haha I prefer faster stuff. I've been able to play guitar without pain the past few days though, so maybe it's getting better. Thanks for the suggestion though
@ScottySolace I get pains in my hands sometimes, too. Maybe you could try lighter strings? There's a big difference between 9 gauge and 10 gauge, there's even 8 gauge...
@wiedemaster Perhaps. I think I'm gonna lower my .70 + 11 gauge down to a .65 + 11 gauge, most of the strings are just right, but my lowest string is hard as a rock even at drop G or drop F.

@ScottySolace Ok, I'll have a look at Nexus. Are you serious about music, then? Do you play gigs and stuff like that?

@ScottySolace Ok. Maybe playing some slower stuff would help with the arthritis? You could play some funeral doom, or something...

@ScottySolace Do you do hand warm ups? You can get special massage oils for your hands, I think which should help, as well.

@wiedemaster I've been doing warmups and stretches recently before playing. They do seem to help. Thanks again for the suggestions
