@markowee Many thanks for mentioning Los Shains. I've just been listening to it and it is indeed a more than worthy take on "The Crusher". Also Los Saicos (another band from Peru) and probably a whole more that are worth searching out, I see. Who would have thought they had 60's garage bands in Peru ? Not me (until now anyway) and let alone that they produced work like this. Happy listening.

I love both Cramps and this version. There is no better version. Cramps version is for people who like it fast, aggressive..basically punk..But this is good in its own way too.

Loved the Cramps' cover, but the original is TRANSCENDENT. The vocalist here has the gravelly, haranguing voice that perfectly fits the bad-guy-wrestler theme, and the playing and production are wonderfully crude. A serious rival to "Surfin' Bird" as the greatest trash-/garage-rock song of all time. Thanks for posting!

Dull? I'm a huge Cramps fan too (and I love their version almost as much as the original), but it was garage band sounds like this that Lux and Ivy folded into Rockabilly and everything else to get that amazing inimitable sound....and if you turn them both up, I think the Novas will make the walls shake and paint peel twice as fast...and that's rock'n'roll at its raunchy best...BTW RIP Lux and Reggie...
