  • Just curious man, are your settings still the same today? I can't get comfortable with mine, I move them around very often.

  • I use lancer /gnasher, i free aim with gnasher and pop shot, but the lancer seems to turn to fast for me at 15, but i need the 15 for the gnasher, whould i just put target lower and still get that fast turning with free aiming etc?

  • thanks

  • Thank you!

  • I love alternate now I can't play default now lol

  • How do you know when your controller's thumbsticks are past their prime? I got a new controller with my Xbox. (My current controller is about 3 years old)

  • @MrShyguy0 i bought a new controller once a year.

  • @arCtiCvBi It was my thumbsticks. I'll buy an Onza Refresh when it comes out. Thanks for telling me the Onza existed in the first place.

  • This video is 11:11 long is uploaded on 11/11/2011. Kewlll.

  • Even though I consider myself as good as you arctic, whenever I have trouble, I come to watch these video. Thanks. - TLR Metaphor

  • i go 20 20 20 an i only struggle with wall bouncing an sometimes i miss my shotgun shots

  • Comment removed

  • Sensitivity guide works ty, I am not that noob like i supposed.

  • Oh i know i just noticed it wasn't on the list. Want trying to hate. Bad wording on my end. Love the anaylization and detailed explanation. Very professional ^_^

  • You forgot gorgon pistol

  • @hilbilybone it uses the same rules as the two other pistols

  • I liked this video alot it shows the concepts of all three sensitivitys I personally use 19,19,19..i used all 20 before and it was just a bit too fast i found that between 17-19 are good target sensitivity, and 18-20 for the other 2 but thats just my prefrence i adjust my levels depending on the players skill im playing agianst,i love your vids very descriptive

  • awesome tips. I've always got my on default, bout to try this soon!

  • your truly amazing! Your video was so helpful that I have been setting records without dying because i was evading all the enemies shots

  • @MultiDynamite3 that is awesome man!

  • I've noticed that I been overshooting my shots while wallbouncing. It think I'm going to try out your preference.

  • Could anyone tell me a good sensitivity for sniping ?

  • @360gameable 12 aim sensitivity is good for shotgun, but not for snipe (sweep shot). I recommend u a aim sensitivity on 15 or more, 15 is also good for shotgun when u do practice. I play on 18 15 12.

  • @ arctic

Thanks for the tips dude my accuracy has increased a lot with a rifle since switching down to 14 keep the vids coming

  • after testing I have stuck at 18 15 12. just seems perfect for me. I like that they let us change it to this much.

  • I'll admit to being a 20/20/20 player until recently. Now I'm 20/16/16. After watching this video, I'll probably change it up to 18/16/14 or something similar. 20 look has a tendency to get you stuck on random walls when evading (it even happens in this video). 16 feels perfect for my target; even though I'm mainly support, I still like it a little twitchy. And I don't snipe, but my pistol zoom is a little hectic, so that should go down a bit.

  • Very helpful, thanks. I change my setting and saw an improvement straight away. Thanks a lot.

  • @XXlnsXX that is awesome to hear!

  • Hey again haha, so I shouldn't change my look due to inaccurate shotgun hip firing, but just adjust my feathering of the controller? Because i keep adjusting my look, and I can't seem to figure out if i need to lower or raise it to help my hip fire accuracy

  • just found your channel after starting to get into gears 3 alot, needed some tips for sensitivty, this is really helpful! thanks so much. Subbed for sure!

  • This improved my game at least 20%, very informative and helpful, thanks!!

  • Great video! =)

  • @arCtiCvBi I like the alternate control scheme. I takes some getting use to, but is very helpful in evasive maneuvering. Trying to roadie run past a tight corner in default is a pain in the arse cuz you end up mantling it. Same goes if you simply try to dodge and you're to close to cover.

  • MyGnasher1 "let the Noobs figure it out?" What kind of selfish ass comment is that?! You see, players like you make online shooters annoying! I like to thank Artic for taking the time to breakdown the usage of the various sensitivity levels. Great job!

  • Wow, Honestly u should not hav made this. Let the noobs figure it out. Also, I First started this game i put my sensitivity to ..look:20 Target:17: Zoom:14 and my Omnidirectional Evade is off

  • extremely helpful, thanks Arctic!

  • @Gametime013 you're very welcome!

  • thanks for this video! i wanna play gears with you! :)

  • great tutorial, thanks!

  • @xtrememorph thanks for checking it out!

  • @23pac23man23 It makes it so you can evade in any direction instead of just forward, backward, left and right.

  • @raiju13 and it helps for bouncing

  • what is the omnidirectional evade?

  • Kinda disagree with some aspects of the video, i play on 20 20 18, same as great players such as Like Butter.

I feel this dramatically helps when sniping and i dont feel it effects my aiming using the lancer, it only takes a short while to get used to and the wall bouncing plus strafing have been really improved, i average 3.5 KD per game and i have a 4.6 overall and in TDM but it will depend on the individual player ;)

  • Your the ball boyce thanks for that i was wandering what the hell i was doing wrong watched your vid all cool now keep up the good vids man

  • @LEG3ND1983 he doesn't use a modded controller....

  • @LEG3ND1983 you are an idiiot.

  • @LEG3ND1983 Is your team MLG making money? No I didn't think so. Get out of here you ignorant noob.

  • @LEG3ND1983 u r sooooo DUMB

  • @LEG3ND1983 wow!! you are a moron

  • @LEG3ND1983 This is coming from a online warrior. NICE!

  • so that's what zoom sensitivity does

  • VERY NICE TIPS DUDE THAKS FOR THE SENSITIVITY :DDD

  • @POR901 thanks glad it helped out

  • Thanks for putting this out there Arctic. Some good information for all.

  • @SoSiCc408 thanks for watching :)

  • can you or skylus make a strafing video. That is the weakest part of my game.

  • @AlphaDwg we'll consider it

  • All mine are on 100 :S lol

  • Great video! I'm nearly level 100 and I had never even adjusted the sensitivity settings because I had no idea what they'd do. Now I've customized them perfectly for me, amazing video; thank you!

  • Hey do you have any videos for hip/blind firing the Gnasher? It feels a lot different from gears 2......

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • WOW. I used your settings and I feel like a new/refreshed player. I never thought much of it before, more fool me. Amazing. I recommend these to anyone.

  • This video really helped because I never knew what the target sensitivity affected but now I know! I think I'm still going to play on all 20s though because I've gotten used to it now and I like having really quick reactions. But this is a good video like always bro. Keep it up

  • @ipwn3du Thats good to hear man! Thanks for watching :)

  • great break down

  • @r3zin thanks :)

  • Nice video. Hope to make my play style much better with these tips! Thanks bro!!!

  • @lancermeat no problem thanks for watching

  • moved my look up for 14 to 16. havent played many games but ill let you know how it goes. my target and zoom were already at 12

  • excellent video!

  • @midnitetrene12 thanks :)

  • I could say im a support player but i use shotgun A LOT as well, my target is set to 18 cause i felt shotty was slow on lower and i control lancer very well on 18. took me 2 days to adjust.

HB is harder though, i can adjust lancer aim easy once i start shooting thanks to its constant ROF hammy gives me a little trouble but im a lancer user anyways so i dont care that much.

Your videos are great man, i want to commend you for doing these, helpful and informative, keep up the great work.

    peace

  • I had mine 20/20/20. I'll take your advice and try your settings.

  • @Eleo235 It's not about trying my settings per say, it's more about finding something tha s omfortable for you while having the understandng of what each setting controls.

  • @arCtiCvBi I tried 16/12/11 if I recall correctly. I think it feels slightly better for hipfiring, and I don't over-steer as much, but I think I prefer to turn a little sharper while running. Maybe try 18.

It's hard for me to gauge if it helps; how do I attribute failings or success to a lowered sensitivity? I could just happen to be playing poorly/well that day.

Great video, though. At the very least I know I should try different settings instead of setting everything to 20.

  • Another great Video.Keep it Up arCtiC! Big Thanks from Germany!!1 :)

  • @kompressor0815 thank you! :)

  • i think all my settings are under 15. but it works for me! in other words, i dont suck. but this was very helpful, i might up my settings a little bit.

  • i love u man no homo

  • what's the green weapon skin you're using at 4:00 for your hammerburst or lancer?

  • @kenignacio liquid green metal skin

  • 20 20 17 works at least I feel like I have an edge :)

  • for snipers use my sensitivity

    18

    17

    20

Works for me like a charm

    I run

    20

    18

18 when playing as support though.

  • this video is 11:11 long on 11/11/11... O_o

  • @Tech7VoCarl Hehe :)

  • I play ALTERNATE too, I think it improves the gameplay. It gives a lot more confidence in cqc cause you know you won't roll accidentaly

  • @TheJoniGomes Yeah I'm really liking it

  • Sweet video thanks!

  • @DaveDude571 Thank you for checking it our :)

  • So what would you recommend? Alternate or default control schemes? I've played a few games on Alternate and I like the concept, just wondering if its worth the change up.

  • @GullyFella I need to play with it longer but I'll do a video on it after Ive tested it awhile

  • Another great guide thank you so much for the time you spent for making your guide and other gameplay video, I really appreaciate this :) (sorry for my bad english)

  • @H1pHopLover Thank you for watching

  • Thumbs up if you think 20,20,20 is the way to go!

  • what is the point of omnidirectional evade?

  • Very nice vid man. Changing settings now:)

  • 18/17/12

  • great guide just confirmed my own settings, thanks.

  • @weazer21 thanks :)

  • I played 20-17-15, but I was missing a lot of hip-fire and getting smashed in close encounters most of the time. Today, I played with 18-15-15 and it's much better. I have to give it some time obviously, but I think I've found my sweetspot. Thanks Arctic, always enjoying your videos, hope we can play together sometime.

  • you're ama-Zyn, you help me to be a better player ! thank you for all the stuff !

  • @angelusbrz thank you for taking the time to watch!

  • I play 60 everything I feel to slow I like it this way

  • dude, i admire you and your friend's skill so much @.@ this is my first gears game. im trying my best to be great at it. and this video helps alot, thanks.

  • @Quadraxon i'm glad it's helping you out!

  • @arCtiCvBi I just don't see how you all can aim so well without a crosshair on the screen, but i guess that's the long earned practice and skill of playing this series for over 5 years. 8\

  • my sens is 20 20 20. I started using the alternate controller scheme. For the first two weeks with the new controller scheme I was confused and screwed up but now I got it it down and there is no better way to play, easy wall bounces and you never get stuck.

  • @TheSaneSchizophrenic yeah hopefully I can stick through it. It feels a lot better, it just takes some time to get used to it

  • i say 17-13-11 is good for me

  • I play 20/20/20 and for me its not problem.. 2.6 KDR/2.8 W/L, gnasher multikills frequent and pretty good at wallbouncing..

Id tell ANYONE just to turn there sens all the way up, theres no downside to it.. only benefits.

  • @hohohoho578 The same, bro!

  • Have you seen the MLG Mad Catz controller? What do you think of it?

  • @SaustinGaming Yeah I have actually there is a full blown comparison between it and the Onza on my website.

  • i play on all 20s

  • @arcticvbi:

What are your thoughts on KontrolFreeks?

    Nice vid, BTW.

  • @kfortier5 thanks I've actually done a full review on Kontrol Freeks. They are okay, but I use an Onza so there's not much use for them.

  • superb. Cleared up a few things for me. Great great great video bro. Thanks a lot.

  • @arCtiCvBi I usually run in when playing one shot one kill, if you play aggressive then the team usually gets more aggressive as well. Iv got a whole lot better with hitting people coming out of a roll while playing on the playlist, and iv got a few good blindfire head shots which were missing from gears 2.

  • Whats cali play on arctic?

  • @AdamDizzz He plays all 20s

  • I have the Onza TE...just curious do you add resistance to your analog sticks? I add non on the left and just a tiny bit on the right

  • @orcres No I don't play with any resistance

  • Great vid as always arCtiC, very informative

  • @drunkfux1 Thanks :)

  • lol, level 100 and only 30 kills with a boltok :P

  • @rvbrvb101 Don't really go out of my way to use it hehe

  • @arCtiCvBi You Should, it can clutch like a champion. (as I'm sure you know :D)

  • 20 18 16

  • 20-20-18

  • Alt. button scheme is better by far, been using since gears 2, it will take a good while to get used to but its worth it.

  • @82PeRK The more I play with it the more I like it

  • great guide arctic! i'm 10-9-7 and i like to mix it up with support lancer fire and suicide gnasher rushing lol but i'll have to try look sensitivity somewhere up around 14 or 15.

    gorgon = non-factor zoom?

  • @AFricknChickn23 yeah the Gorgon isn't a precision zoom pistol so I didn't list it. Seems like a useless part of the weapon to me. Yeah try getting used to a slightly higher look sensitivity

  • @arCtiCvBi will do arctic! thanks for the always awesome content and for always replying to comments. You're everything that makes a youtube video game uploader good! All your hard work pays off cuz everyone that watches these videos loves them and they are so helpful!

  • hey i am a cod noob and i came straight from black ops. (i am level 52 now but back then i sucked). I went straight to 20-20-20 because on Cod i was used to having a higher look sensitivity. I not trying to sound badass and amazingly good at this game, but in all honesty I found it SOO much easier using 20-20-20 than anything else, but then again its just my opinion :)

  • @10maxch hey 20-20-20 might be really good for you, not saying it isn't. I just think there is a misconception that 20-20-20 is what makes you good at the game or a better shotgun user. In all honesty the only thing that truly matters with shotgunning is the Look sensitivity.

  • 18-13-7, omni OFF, feels perfect

  • @theSUICIDEfox yeah I've messed with omni off in the first couple weeks of the game. I stuck to walls WAY less with it off, but I decided to turn it back on after watching some instances of rolling around cover that just weren't possible with it off.

  • @arCtiCvBi I notice this too, and I used omni up until a few weeks ago (Hardcore event IIRC). I'd rather take cover properly over rolling at unusual angles. I feel more in control when I move and bounce around.

  • Look Sensitivity also effects blindfire :D 18-17-15 here

  • @xProxable yeah I refer to blind firing as "hip firing" which I talked about briefly when I had the Lancer

  • I have mine set all to 16.

  • 0-0-0 is where it is guys

  • @Gmanrocksyo lol yeah if you want to handicap yourself

  • another thing i don't understand is apparently if you use the lancer, then you're a noob, i got called that in the Alpha playlist. And yet, most of my kills were with lancer. people seem to think that the gnasher is the be all end all of weapons on gears, it really is pathetic. A true pro player makes good use of all weapons, don't rely completely on the gnasher all your life.

  • @Cobryza yeah I mentioned that in my alpha playlist Running Ranked episode. It annoys me as well

  • This was good to know. I think that the next time I play I'm gonna mess around with the sensitivities again. Normally I run 20/20/20, but I think I might change it to 18/15/15.

  • it aint right to have your Y axis NOT inverted, just seems wrong IMO. The way I see it is, put the palm of your right hand on the top of your head, pretend your head is the right control stick, move forward to look down and pull back to look up. The logic of having it not inverted means if you're flying a jet or plane, you should have pitch not inverted.

  • @Cobryza actually I play inverted on flight simulators, but I don't like it inverted in shooters. Just a personal preference.

  • @Cobryza

Eh, most players go with un-inverted controls since they are already used to the default controls. Inverted vs. noninverted is more on preference.

  • @DAK075 True. I have had inverted Y axis for several years now, even before I had an xbox 360, used that when I played PS2.

  • great guide! this game takes much more skill than i realised..

  • @agp60 yeah there are a lot of layers to gears once you start looking at the game from a competitive level and breaking it down. That's the case with most shooters, but I feel like Gears is one of the last truly skilled console shooters around.

  • This video was updated 11-11-11 and it is 11:11 minutes in lenghth!

  • Thanks for the guide, it was really well done

  • @Z1CC4 thanks for taking the time to watch it

  • this video helped me a lot thanks

  • hey artic could u make a video on wall bouncing tips

  • @dallas8061 maybe so

  • thanks a lot for this video, my friends and i are trying to play better and you are definitely helping us alot!

  • Thanks for these tips!

  • @jaazz101 thanks for watching them :)

  • 11/11/11 11:11... well played sir.

  • @nativemrkevin hehe thanks :)

  • Great vid arCtiC but I need your help. For me, the standard Xbox controller analog sticks are far too short and have no precision in them. In any FPS I cant use the sensitivity I want because of this. Do you recommend FPS freeks or the Razer Onza or what? Basically I need a solution for better aiming, what do you suggest?

  • @Selfey230 I use the Onza. I really enjoy it, but it's not for everyone. The learning curve on it is kind of long, but once you get used to it there's no going back to a regular controller. the analogs have less of a dead zone than the regular controller.

  • Is the video length 11:11 for a reason? ;)

  • arCtiC YOU ARE THE MAN!

  • @oOGrabbenOo you are the man!
