We would have 35 million soldiers stand-by for a war, if there is a war, we could call more soldiers in and then we would have 95 to 100 million soldiers that can fight, i think even more. Europe has 489 million inhabitants, so i think 150 or 180 woul the exact number. So we could fight for 80 years or something without nukes. If other country's play with nukes, we lose in 1 year.

If you give time, few more generations, people will adjust to EU. So if anything, European state can exist WITHOUT a repressive state like USSR. @johnjn14 I don't think that EU is becoming a socialist state, but it's just transforming central/south/west Europe closer to the Nordic society model. Which arguably is the best one in the world - it takes time for you to get adjusted, but soon it'll be alright.
What's important is to recognize EU federal state quick enough in order to secure healthy central regime. If this isn't done, EU could lean more to the Chinese "suppressive" system. Not recognizing EU federation isn't an option tho.

We would have 35 million soldiers stand-by for a war, if there is a war, we could call more soldiers in and then we would have 95 to 100 million soldiers that can fight, i think even more. Europe has 489 million inhabitants, so i think 150 or 180 woul the exact number. So we could fight for 80 years or something without nukes. If other country's play with nukes, we lose in 1 year.

We placed ourselves on the front line to defend Europe, even though we live on the otherside of the world. We still stand with Europe to this day, providing assistance when we can, and added security against people who want to harm Europe.

@ViriathusVingathor The US never sold weapons to the Nazis (Germans in ww1 is what you're thinking of) and indeed supplied lend lease to the UK and France, making yp 55% of the UK's military budget from 1940-1945. We provided men, equipment, ships, and even had enough left over to supply 33% of the Entire soviet military from 1942-1945. We provided the Marshal plan to rebuild Europe- even though we had been bankrupt at the time providing for Europe in the war.

This means military budgeting of say 500 billion, would have felt like 1,5 trillion to the Soviets who had a much smaller econamy. Regan is famous for this strategy, he bankrupted the Soviets who had already been under severe economic stress.

You're WW2 statistics are false as well, the maximum percentage of the German military that was fighting the Soviets was 71% in 1942, by 1945 it was 38%. Here is a breakdown; 1941: 65%, 1942: 71%, 1943: 63%, 1944 55%, 1945: 38%

As well as missing my point that the Soviet Union was forced to fight Germany, after providing them with millions of tons of fuel and raw materials, signing a non-aggression pact, and taking advantage of the situation to annex and invade the Baltic states, Poland, and parts of Finland.

They surrendered to the Soviet army because that had been the terms of the cease-fire and the soon after peace deal. Had the Soviets had not invaded, those same men would have surrendered to allied commanders just as soon.

(other minor allied powers as well) Without the UK, Germany would have had plenty of oil and raw material. Without the US the allied countries would have crashed, and the Soviets would had been over-ran due to severe shortages. Without the Soviets, Germany would have dug in and made any invasion impossible.

The difference was the US had the option to stay out of the war, the Soviets planned to stay out- only being forced to defend themselves later. They abandoned Europe, and even betraying it to the Axis by providing resources to Germany until the very day they got invaded by them. All that time we gave resources to Europe, even Hitler quoted lend lease as the primary reason he declared war on us.

@XxxSakura101 US didn't really become a superpower until the end of WW2 to be honest all the European nations had become bankrupt and it left US and USSR and then US bankrupted the soviets in the arms race and has remained a now hyper power since. Although the Chinese are catching up slowly but surely.

When was the last time Russia bled for Europe? Excluding Serbia, the last time was during the Napoleonic wars. We on the other hand gave Europe massive amounts of blood and treasure in wars we could have easily stayed out of.

Japan could have invaded the Soviet Union but they didn´t,Hitler even asked them to,the reasons why Japan didn´t invaded the Soviet union was not only because the Empire had to fight the chinese,they were very overstretched,but also because it would be very difficult to mount a campaign in the coldest and most inospit parts of the Soviet Union.

@ViriathusVingathor They did not attack the Soviet Union, because they needed raw material that Siberia did not provide. Instead the Japanese attacked India, and the current ASEAN. It had nothing to do with the weather, or climate as they had a sizable army of 2.1 million against 250,000 Soviet troops in June of 1941.

You can't possibly be suggesting that the Soviets defeated 93% of the Axis military, because i've already proven their contributions to the war effort and even at the height of the invasion, the Soviet Union (for a short time) faced less than 2/3rds of the Germany military.

@ViriathusVingathor Without the Soviet Union, the war would have been much tougher, but i find it unlikely that the allies would have been defeated. The US alone had a higher GDP than both alliances put together. Combined with a slightly lower population, and the other non-soviet allies the Axis would have been outmatched in the end.
