  • Sorry if this is off topic, but how do i use my own mods that i made? I have a mod manager, but the mod doesnt show up on it.

  • Things I don't understand.

Why Lightsaber isnt an instant kill with all videos.

Why not make the "Combat Shotgun" aka PPSh-41 into a non shotgun. That would be cool

  • dont show yourself playing and just shoot the fucking gun.

  • i like the sniper rifle i think each individual weapon should have a different skin like ol-miss, reservist rifle Xuanlong Assualt rifle

  • wait. lucas simms using a knife!?

  • lol being sniper here is boring lol...

  • Pretty nice :)

    I don't like the Lightsaber mod. :(

like the Ak and Hunting rifle sounds

    :)

I like the Bullet wizzing :) That was amazing.

Your comp is laggy? or is it just fraps?

  • Computer doesn't lag too much although Fallout 3 is about as optimized as Oblivion was. FRAPS does that ULTRALAG sometimes.

  • Thanks, I was gunna say- If mods did that then I can't be asked to download anything. :) Thanks =P

  • try to make a mod so you can look down the iron sights on your guns and make a video of it

  • There's a mod of that..

  • the guns sound so weak now

  • Bah, crap, I think I accidentally removed your other reply when I wanted to replay to it!

Anyway, the game just has extremely poor models for sound. For example, if any sound is stereo, it will NOT fade over distance, instead always being maximum volume for a distance of... I'd say, 300 meters. I haven't tested that variable with the cracks, however, their "radius" might be vastly smaller.

  • Well, the main issue is what I have to work with. I may mod for it, but I -do- call this game Failout for a reason. Those cracks are already pretty loud (I increased them by 18 decibels as is, any higher and I'll start to lose quality), but the game doesn't render them problem. Same problem again with how you can't hear the cracks at all if you're roughly within range to hear their gun.

  • In line with the problems, if you watch starting at 3:34, I fire twice as some woman in the distance. If you listen, you can actually hear that, the second time I fire - for seemingly no reason other than bad programming - the bolt action is much more silent than it was during the first shot.

  • Anyways, you could also look to Red Orchestra for inspiration on creating intensity and immersion in your mod- something that games almost never have in the sound department. Shame, really.

Also, you could try combining your sound mod with other realism mods in your future videos; that'd be awesome. I also completed those snaps recently so maybe I'll upload them for feedback.

  • OP: "The hunting rifle sounds fantastic, albeit quiet compared to the sound of the bolting and I like the new sonic cracks but it seems that sounds like that have a tendancy to loose a lot of flavor, and more importantly, shock factor when they're not loud.

The wizzing noises of the bullets are a welcome addition but lacks an intense, ear piercing quality like IRL (again, volume or the duration or something). Definite step in the right direction.

Alright hope that helps. More in a second."
