For me, it would be Summer of '63, the LAST innocent summer of our generation. The music--The girls--& yes, a simpler time, & better in many ways. Oh I know, we had racism & vietnam was just over the horizon, but still, Summer of '63--I was 16 y/o, was My Summer of Dreams, & will always be. Robin--Jackie--was such a total Babe!! Wolfsky9
Great song! Almost Spectorish, early `64, remember hearing it on the radio only two or three times and loved it as much as WONDERFUL SUMMER.Fortunately I have the record AND her CD!
wow this is so much better than the early and mid 1960s women who are played on radio stations. cool carefree california beach music. where is this woman from
Great Song. Absolutely beautiful production -- very atmospheric, with good arrangement of instrumental and backing vocal parts Amazing to consider that Perry Botkin Jr., the composer and arranger of this song and many others for Robin Ward, nowadays wants nothing to do with his marvelous 60s work! If I had done only this one song, I'd be as proud as anything and die happy.
@Wolfsky9 You are absolutely right: Robin Ward (I think her real name was Jackie Ward) *should* have had a much bigger career....it makes me wonder why it didn't happen. On a different note, while many like to point out the social problems back then, from sexism to smoking and so forth, how I miss the innocence and melodiousness of the music. Oh, for a time machine to go back to any summer of the early 1960s...
@rskissack You are righter than right. I've been looking for a time machine to the 60's since I arrived on YouTube. if you find one, please let me know. I'll pay any price for a ticket. :-) One way because I have no wish to ever come back to the 00's.
Late fifties, early sixties............best era in America ever! all gone now.

@Wolfsky9 Very well spoken Wolfsky9! A simpler time and a beautiful song. Her songwriter or writers were great!

thanks for this. Hadn't heard it before, and it's GOOD. 'Wonderful Summer' was a hit here in Australia, but this missed out.

A Timeless Classic from a lady who should have been as bif as Lesley Gore. I know--I was there, in the 60's. Wolfsky9, 64 y/o now.

@Wolfsky9 Agreed, there were a lot of female singers who deserved greater fame.
