    the muscles on the hands and fingers are smaller and there fore taps the button less rapidly and consist of slow twitching muscles. The muscles on the bicep, and all the larger muscle group, consist of fast twitch muscles. try this on the game called "dragon ball gt final bout" where try to counter a ki blast

  • bigger muscles are stronger. i'm not talking about body building. it helps you jump. to give you a nice analogy, try to tap a joystick button as rapidly as you can using just your thumb and hand muscles. repeat and try the process but this time, engage the bicep, wrist, fore arms etc and using rather your point finger supported by thumb and middle ones. the effect says it all. continued

  • i do heel walks to train my dorsi flexors and it works just fine. you dont need equipment to work on the ankle joint muscles IMO. Ankle joint muscles play a very minor role is vertical jumping and overall explosive output.

  • grate tip i have had ankle injures in the past and have always been advised to use the big rubber bands( i dont know the proper name) to help strengthen them back up however what you have just showed there is a grate idea and i am 100% sure this will help people recover alot faster than i did thanks grate vid !

  • its also good to just hold the position (dorsi flexion with the ankle weights or stand on the edge of your staits on the balls of your feet). thats good for your stability (ankle) and balance between your anterior and posterior muscles

  • he's tips are great for conditioning, they dont make you jump 40-50 inches, but you gotta do some of the stuff he does, it gives you a great base to build on. if youre young and starting training you gotta start with his stuff, not with squating 400 pounds, you WILL get injured like that. do some of his stuff for a while, then start to build up. also you gotta work on other areas than ur legs and hips, like abs, core and lower back.

  • @that1duck Yeah that's due to maturation. Bones and muscle grow in size and if you're a gifted freak, you'll fly without training for it due to structure. It can be trained though, to awesome feats of course...

    if you don't get taller it wont be a bit of training but quite a lot! but the cause is worth it!

  • @chacgomcgrady Your muscles will be more stretch thus weaker structure for vert. Look up Stephan Holmes, he's only 140 pounds and lunge 365 pounds. His relative strength legend with low weight. I do prefer 200 pound mass for 50 inch standing vert. This coach knows nothing. Bigger muscles are stronger.

  • hey, im 6 foot 1 and i had the same problem... instead of trying to dunk by yourself, have someone toss you an alley oop... its so much easier and it helps you get over a mental state that you are in rite now even if you dont know it
