It didn't work for me. I coded it just like you but when it comes to saving it we seem to have different option on the screen even tho we both have macs. You had a plain text encoding UTF-8 option when you saved as html. I just typed the name then scrolled down to html format then saved. It saved but the page just had the code on it, no color bg, flying text, nothing. What am I doing wrong? thanks
@AlphaE06 Try going under preferences, open and save, then uncheck the two boxes under "When Saving a File." Also select Unicode (UTF-8) in both boxes under where it says "Plain Text File Encoding" It should work.
Did anyone get this working? I cannot went to setting etc unchecked the boxes but still when i save I just see the code and no flying text, color back round
Very helpful video, thanks. Only 2 things: "marquee" is pronounced "mar-kee," not "mar-kwee." Nothing big. The other thing is that OS X Lion makes the TextEdit process near impossible with how frustrating it is, rather than 'Save as...' you can only 'save' it as a version. It tends to snap to a .txt file even after changing the file to a .html file. There's a way to fix it in preferences but it still doesn't work as needed.
can you help or lead me to a video that clearly explains how to ad AdSense to my youtube channel? I have the AdSense account im just having a hard time adding to my page..thanks
I almost got everything till the saving part. When I try saving it with the Save As window the only thing different with my screen and your is that mine doesn't show "Plain text encoding" Mine only shows "File format: rich text format" I need help please on how to get my screen like yours.
Nice Video dude. But when I do what you did all I get is the html code and not the webpage. I even did what you recommended...preferences and click those things. I'm using Mac OS X Tiger. Could that be an issue?
@cvdanny1 Sorry i didnt put it in the video but anyways open up textedit then click on
textedit button on the top of your screen then click on prefrences then instead of rich text make sure its on plain text. then click on open and save and make sure all the options under "When opening a file" and "When saving a file" are all checked. then once you do that you can close textedit and reopen it. You should then be able to write in html.
when is your second tutorial?
thanks for the video, because i didn't know about marquee (flying text).

@Jdrage31 so make sure
Ignore rich text commands in HTML files
Ignore rich text commands in RTF files
