  • when is your second tutorial?

thanks for the video, because i didn't know about marquee (flying text).

  • @TheGreatThingsInLife Not sure i wish i could have an answer.. I really want to make a new video. Just the time stopping me.

  • What a fckin noob.

  • @MoEnterprise007 Learn how to spell before trying to "insult me"

  • My title won't work.

  • I opened up my file and it shows all my code, like the greater than sign. What do I do?

  • It didn't work for me. I coded it just like you but when it comes to saving it we seem to have different option on the screen even tho we both have macs. You had a plain text encoding UTF-8 option when you saved as html. I just typed the name then scrolled down to html format then saved. It saved but the page just had the code on it, no color bg, flying text, nothing. What am I doing wrong? thanks

  • @AlphaE06 Try going under preferences, open and save, then uncheck the two boxes under "When Saving a File." Also select Unicode (UTF-8) in both boxes under where it says "Plain Text File Encoding" It should work.

  • Did anyone get this working? I cannot went to setting etc unchecked the boxes but still when i save I just see the code and no flying text, color back round

  • how do you name the webpage as in the search it online, are you going to make a more in detailed video on this

  • how do we make it a background picture

  • Aren't you supposed to put the !DOCTYPE html tag at the beginning?

  • @Microsoftultimatefan you don't have too its completely optional.

  • @Jdrage31 Is the doctype just for pc because in my html class we need the doctype statement

  • Html is easy..

    but good tutorial

  • thank you so much!

  • Same background as mine xD

  • homo mac

  • @adventure100100 I have an apple mac to, and I had the same problem. So here is what u do:

turn the text the 'Plain text"

    turn the format to "unicode-8"

    then do it.. It works.

  • Great vid, Where's part 2!?? You promised!! :>

  • this is the similar way for webpage design at my school but i wasnt sure on how to do it on a MAC cause school has windows this really helped!

  • I didn't understand you so fats and far away!

  • Very helpful video, thanks. Only 2 things: "marquee" is pronounced "mar-kee," not "mar-kwee." Nothing big. The other thing is that OS X Lion makes the TextEdit process near impossible with how frustrating it is, rather than 'Save as...' you can only 'save' it as a version. It tends to snap to a .txt file even after changing the file to a .html file. There's a way to fix it in preferences but it still doesn't work as needed.

  • @giwduleoj Just download textwrangler its made for html

  • with lion. i cant do save as. when i click on save a version it saves it as a txt file. HELP

  • @kevkev3099 tee hee that's what you get for spending $30 on something you didn't need.

  • @kevkev3099 Use Notepad or notepad++ and when you are about to save save as a html for example

    website.html

  • @kevkev3099 use taco html

  • @kevkev3099 use textwrangler

  • can you help or lead me to a video that clearly explains how to ad AdSense to my youtube channel? I have the AdSense account im just having a hard time adding to my page..thanks

  • you have to put the body tag outside the head tag!

  • @TheBohnanza you can do either one doesn't matter

  • when are you going to make a part 2 pleeeeease?

  • Sorry! I can not see cearly .............

  • I almost got everything till the saving part. When I try saving it with the Save As window the only thing different with my screen and your is that mine doesn't show "Plain text encoding" Mine only shows "File format: rich text format" I need help please on how to get my screen like yours.

  • learn how to zoom in...

  • I really enjoyed this video and it all worked out for me on my own MAC. Excellent!

  • Nice Video dude. But when I do what you did all I get is the html code and not the webpage. I even did what you recommended...preferences and click those things. I'm using Mac OS X Tiger. Could that be an issue?

  • @RangerPete61 i had the same problem but you have to go under Format and change it to PLAIN TEXT before you begin. its probably under RICH TEXT.

  • Comment removed

  • when i do it my webpage shows up exactaly the same as my text edit

  • @cvdanny1 Sorry i didnt put it in the video but anyways open up textedit then click on

textedit button on the top of your screen then click on prefrences then instead of rich text make sure its on plain text. then click on open and save and make sure all the options under "When opening a file" and "When saving a file" are all checked. then once you do that you can close textedit and reopen it. You should then be able to write in html.

  • @Jdrage31 so make sure

Ignore rich text commands in HTML files

Ignore rich text commands in RTF files

are checked? tired of having to use Parallels just to use Notepad for my HTML class.
