  • Creating one while pulling another isn't lazy - it's efficient! Very clever. I spent too much time unraveling last night because of a tension mistake and now wish I'd just restarted straight away instead. Next time!

  • The reason your square is bulging is because you made the same increases at the 4 corners as for the hexagon even though you have 2 corners fewer than with the hex.

Therefore you need to count the total number of increases per turn and divide it by 4 to get the exact number of increases per corner for the square.

  • thank you for taking the time to explain this. I love crochet but have not done a "major" project like this because it's scary!!! I have to be shown what to do and this videos really help a lot.

    Have a marvellous day!

  • In fact I may have been mistaken. The angles on hexagons are 120 degrees, and the angles on squares are 90 so if you did what I said you might come even worse off.

Try doing 5 increases per corner, I think this is the usual number in granny squares. There are lots of resources online for doing crochet squares and you'll find the answer I'm sure.

  • Can I please have the pattern for that!

  • If you search corded ridge hexagonal blanket, he has two videos on how to start this blanket. :)
