@TheChaosofra But Spinosaurus wasn't a Predatory Hunter it only fished and possibly scavenged. Size doesn't make it a forimiddable hunter especially if you have weak jaws and tooth pick like teeth the only weapon it had was it's claws which it used to grasp on slippery fish. So technically Giganotosaurus is the largest land hunter.

How much time did pteradon spend on land at all? Albatross has 3-4 metre wingspan and only lands to nest. Maybe they did the same? I wouldn't want a flimsy tent like that with things like that stalking around! Even herbivores might step on you. "You don't want to surprise them" - even less it surprise you! I'd carry a flame-thrower if I were you mate! They reckon S.Americans-Africans got bigger while N.Americans-Asians got brighter. Biplane? That's prehistoric too!

@MegaChallanger Because the only complete skeleton of Spinosaurus ever discovered was destroyed when the museum it was displayed in was accidentally blown up during either World War I or World War II (I forget exactly which). So for nearly a century afterward it was forgotten that Spinosaurus was bigger than T-rex. But fossils discovered recently in Morocco reminded the world that it was the biggest land-based carnivore that ever lived.

@trexhunter73 It may have been, but it is said to be the longest, not the biggest. Some argue that due to size, weight AND height combined with it's mass, Gigantosaurus was probably the biggest predator dinosaur.

Think of an Anaconda and Reticulated Python, anacondas are larger, have greater mass and weight, while reticulated pythons are longer in length but less bulky.

saying that the T-rex where buildt to fight is a tell tell sign of bias towards t-rex... a Trex where "buildt" to function as a scavanger, as well as a hunter of small - medium and large prey, the largest being duckbill dino's close to its own size, and triceratops that where, most likley hunted by groups of t-rex.

@behemuth Yes, that is true, but in order to catch Trikes, it would have to fight to get past the thick frill and three horns. Not very easy thing to do. Also, if it was a scavenger, why would it's bite force be 200,000 newtons, enough to lift a semi and crush bones? If you consider it, Gigas had it easy to catch prey since all they had to do was bite, slash, and run.

Like i said, a one on one with a triceratops would be a bad investment for a t-rex, unless it was starving and desperate, it just seam like a bad risk to reward ratio for a single t-rex... two t-rex vs 1 triceratops is no longer a feat to mention so...

also, 200 000 newtons? idk where that was said, but last acceopted estimate i've heard where 7 000 pound bit force, about twice as much as a great white shark if memories serve... impressive but not THAT impressive, meg or predx where stronger
