I was a plane captain in VF-124 with F-8H's and -J's in 1969. It looks to me like you have the leading edge droops of an H with the flaperon angle of a J. Unless you have high velocity airflow BLC across that extreme flap angle you will have some abrupt stall problems if the model wing loading is anything like the actual Crusader's. Also, when the wing came down (<220 kts) the leading edge droops stayed down partly.
Magnificent craftsmanship. I'd love to see it someday.
To quote "Flite of the Phoenix" I tell people about my models......"A toy is something you wind up and it rolls along the floor.A model is something completely different...." What a great movie! The original with Jimmy Stewart...excuse me ....Colonel Jimmy Stewart.Great actor and great man!
Wow, that is some nice work on the wing, I wish you the best of luck when it gets airborne... It would be heartbreaking to see such a detailed model crash.
WTF? That's not a toy plane, it's a flying model of an F-8 Crusader and it should be obvious from the video that the builder's heart and soul went into making it work properly!
DC, I admire your effort in recreating the mighty F-8 in this awsome model you built. Nice job with how the leading/ trailing edge flaps & wing AOA actuator all seem so fluid together. Accidents happen, built it again! 5 stars from a hardass critic ;)
So sick!
