  • You'll want one of those the day you get a thoracic sprain from loading a 450lbs in status ep' seizure.

    Yep.

  • maybe they can get the stretcher to drive as well.. LOL

  • This makes getting in and out of the ambulance easier, but that thing will still be a bitch to carry up stairs with all that added weight. Still, after being a "patient" in my class, this would have been nice so they didn't bump the damned cot around so much...

  • we have the same cot but only the bottom lifts up so we still gotta lift the patient

  • do the pts knees need to be bent for a reason?

  • I hat them. I hate them. I hate them. These power cots are crap. Why have we gotten lazy and can't even do manual lift anymore? I prefer manual cots.

  • Wish someone would've thought of this years ago!! I might still be able to work on the trucks!! This is a good thing for helping to avert injuries!!!

  • I like it except they took out the bench seat

  • The retail price from Stryker is $18 500 USD, installation not included, and the kit to upgrade the Power-Pro cot is $1 875 (not to mention the cost of a Power-Pro cot is around $10 000). So all in, this puppy with set you back somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 000 per ambulance....

  • @emr911 Not cheap, but how much will it save in injury costs and other costs associated with covering an injured employee while they are off from work for a few months or even a lifetime? $40,000 could easliy be justified if it saves just one person from a career ending back injury.

  • I can't stop watching this video. I spoke with Mike today and figured what he was talking about was some monstrous awkward lift, but this is sweet......

  • The power up/down is awesome, however the power in/out I can see being problematic in cases of intubated patients. If there was a manual in/out and a power up/down, this would be a technology I would seriously consider. That would also likely decrease the cost somewhat...

  • @emr911 there is just power up and down. i run with 4 of them

  • This is possibly the best invention since sliced bread. This will decrease the need for lifting and extend careers ten fold. Seeing this makes me happy.

  • WOW 10,000 hits !!!!!!!! I woulder what type of deal I can work with Stryker once this thing comes out?

  • @eagle5473 Were closing in on 50k hits. Strykers Price tag $27-28k List for this system.......

  • I have since heard Stryker will be lowering the price a bit.......I hope its enought to allow for more services to purchace this exciting tool.

  • @eagle5473 These cots are extending our careers in EMS by taking some of the strain that comes with the lifting off.

  • @TNFlightNurse

We have 2 Power Cots I would not go back to a manual cot ever again......

  • We have the power cots, after 15 years of service I wished we had them way sooner.

    this looks very cool.

    Paramedic in Canada

  • We're trialling the power cots at work now and apparently the powerload is coming. This is the first I've seen of them and I'm excited.

  • The Cutting edge is an expensive place to live, but nice!

  • I want one

  • It is also WAY over priced at $18,500 List....Stryker needs to sharpen their pencils

  • @eagle5473 god i dont care how much it is, im buying it!

  • Just looks like something else that can break. No thank you, I do just fine without that thing.

  • @emt89 I guess we should still be using a Ferno Model 30 too then

  • @eagle5473 Psh. By his logic we should still be using wood frames with canvas slings.

  • @emt89 i guess you dont care about your back then??
