@hurling2010 Hey there. Tried it for the 5,687th time and my PS3 recognized the existence of the connected monitor. The monitor just sat there like a prosthetic leg, falling asleep. It's another inch closer....just gonna keep banging my head against the brick wall. Good luck.

I love this accessory but I wish that sony would allow custom resolutions like 1440 x 900 or 1024 x 768 for monitors. Microsoft did custom resolutions for pc monitors with their xbox 360 and I love the quality on my 19 inch flat screen monitor but still no sound yet!

This works because his monitor has SoG capabilities, which means Sync on Green, even though its not HDCP, it still work with Component to VGA cable.

People who don't have Sync on Green capabilities will have a green tint, or without the green tint will only be able to do 480p.

this cable is pretty good, it works like a d-component, in the options you must select d-component or you won't see anything.

When i have tried the first time i had black screen on my lcd monitor (vga).

So you have to hook up your ps3 in a normal TV and select D-Component.

After that reconnect the vga cable in your monitor et-voila! you have your ps3 fully functional.

2. its a convertor... vga to hdmi converter

3.yes and no.. what i mean is you would have to look A LOT of stores to find one of these.. but you can EASILY find them on the web.

4. there is no such program. ps3 doesn't even have a modchip out for it yet.

But even the HDMI to Dvi-D/ Dvi-i or other versions of Dvi won't work unless ya monitor is HDCP compliant which doesn't save money coz in the first place ya might aswell buy a HD LCD tv with HDMi input and make sure its a 1080p (progressive LCD) rather than the cheaper 1080i Interlaced LCD's every1 seems to how, my LCD is not big at all but progressive!
