Brina Palencia will do a good job as Rei, she's a good actress, but I too was bummed Amanda wasn't coming back. Her voice has that "beautiful yet haunting" quality that's perfect for Rei.

Yeah Brina Palencia is quite good, and I'm sure she did a great job. But IDK it's just not EVA without Amanda Winn Lee...Oh well I'm sure I'll liek the dub as it is. They got Spike Spencer and Allison Keith to return, so that's great too.

Having bought the DVD, I can confirm that the dub for "You Are (Not Alone" is SPECTACULAR. The new voices FUNimation cast are excellent and the ADV voices that came back are better than ever. It's a shame Amanda Winn-Lee couldn't come back, but Brina Palencia did an excellent job as Rei. In fact, she uses a very simmilar voice to Amanda's. It's only *just* different enough to be noticeable. It's a tad higher.

Ah well that's nice to hear Shock Master. I'm waiting for 1.10 before I buy it, but it's nice to know the dub is truly top grade. I'll still mis Amanda Winn Lee, but I do really like Birna Palencia too.

It's funny, the only thing I've ever heard her in is Evangelion, doing Rei Ayanami. She's all crazy and talks a lot and Rei's character is super quiet and never talks.

Yeah, she gave a voice to Konoko. But Konoko sounds much different, serious and more quiet. And she doesn't talk as much as Amanda lol
