  • I'm digging this. Where the heck do you find Dum/Zenkudos anyways???

  • i hear a lot of Bonamassa here xD

man you nearly have the same vibrato in your fingers!

  • @1Guug

Man, thank you so much for your comment. A few people on some of my videos have said the same thing. Funny thing is as much as I like him I wouldn't be a big listener of his music. I guess the fact that we're the same age and listened to the same players growing up has something to do with the connection. If i only had about 2% of the rest of his incredible technique I would be set LOL!!

  • @chooseyourblues as long as you keep the feel you don't need so much technique xD

  • @1Guug

    Amen brother.

  • Could you do a demo vs the Freekish Blues Alpha Drive II STD or USA Made Custom shop? I think you will be quite surprised.

  • I have the Dumkudo Switches Custom, and it is the best OD pedal I have ever tried, and that is MANY, including a Zendrive, Klon, OCD, Rockbox Boiling point, Lovepedal Eternity(the Amp Eleven is killer too!), Fulltones, Analogman KOT, tubescreamers, too many to list...If you have not tried a Zenkudo/Dumkudo in your rig, then you do not know what you are talking about! .

  • Please note, both the Zenkudo and Dumkudo are fully able to do a clean boost, which can be very desirable at times. Yes its expensive, but does everything I ever wanted in a overdrive pedal with no compromises- something I looked years to find. It is solid state, and I do also like to combine it with an old 5 knob Real Tube pedal- which gives me some additional options. But by itself, just the best solid state pedal imaginable, hands down.

  • And although of course, YouTube demos leave much to be desired, it is very flexible, beyond anything else I've tried. It can do clean boost to massive OD- and it is a great improvement over the Zenkudo- i.e., it can go every bit as clean as the Zenkudo, but is capable of more drive. If you can get "only" one, Dumkudo is IT.

  • great man! i need one! cool tone and playing!! i dig these licks.

  • This is a totally horrendous sound pedal and way too expensive. A good ole clean boost like the Freekish Betty Boost will blow this thing out of the park.

  • man you are horrendous... ly good, i aspire to be half as good, one day.

  • wow... it sounds exactly the same on every setting

  • excellent demo,very well done-precise and concise!thx

  • really nice demo thanks@! I've got my eye on this or the zenkudo and having trouble deciding which would be best. Sounds like this higher gain version can still do low gain very nicely!

  • Horrid volume boost? i don't have anything of that sort on my unit...

  • @LennyRayZappa

They seem to be all different. Also the jump is more noticeable into a clean amp. If you are using it in an already distorted amp it wont seem as much because it's just pushing the pre amp tubes harder.

  • Judging from the sheer snarkiness of your criticism, my guess is you probably have no vibrato whatsoever and are jealous.

  • Yes, the Dumkudo definitely kicks the Zendrive's ass.

  • very nice pedal!

  • @dorielementary

Well, in case you didn't realise it is a video demonstration of the Dumkudo pedal hence why I am 'fiddling with the pedal'; to show different settings. It is not a technique video about vibrato or otherwise.

    thank you for stopping by.

  • That volume boost is horrid IMO, otherwise a great pedal.

  • @T92780

Agree. I sent the first one back as I thought there was a default. It's almost unusable. Tanabe refuses to listen though and says that's in the design of the pedal. How often guitar players would want to jump 50dbs for a solo boost is beyond me.

  • that's quite odd- I've heard nothing but wonderful comments from other customers, adn I have one. The volume boost is completely adjustable (or should be) on this.

  • @neilslade

It's fully adjustable but too sensitive to my ears, you either have too much difference or not enough. Otherwise great pedal.

  • I just got my Dumkudo, but mine seems to get much too loud when I increase gain without moving level - do you fine this with yours? No way to get level past 9O'clock without having too loud.

  • this or okko diablo...

  • Lovely, Gregor Hilden pedal. Nice.

You could also have a look at a Barber Ltd. More like a tubescreamer but delightful none the less...

  • Thanks for the advice. I think I'm gonna go with the Diablo Gain+, looking for something that doesn't change my tone too much, but sounds smooth and enough gain.

  • Every try a Providence SOV2 pedal, if so how would you compare?

  • Yea, the little red pedal Robben Ford uses. I haven't heard one yet. I was tempted to bid for one on ebay recently but the bids were getting out of hand.

  • I just ordered my Dumkudo. SOV2 I have is wonderful, sounds like Dumkudo might have a little more gain to be had. If so, I'll use the two in combo; I'll make a SOV2 demostration, I have a small snippet I did for a friend.

  • Does the pedal clean up with picking dynamics

  • Yes, like all good pedals that's what it is designed for.

Really you could just dial it in and leave it on all the time and use the guitar Vol to control the amount of gain.

Almost thinking of it as a second channel of your amp rather than a pedal.

  • Sounds great. Where do you get it and how much?

  • Sounds great....Telecastic!
