  • I absolutely adore this game. Fantastic review! Where did you find the orchestra quality Fate of Atlantis music BTW? I've been looking and can't seem to turn it up.

  • good review mate

  • great review!

  • That was superb, ive bought the game off of steam and id never seen indiana jones any of them, apart from the fourth one until after i played this game, and i gotta say, they are all superb, 4 is okay, its an okay film, not a good indiana jones though, felt too camp and cheesy in places for me. but that review was easily one of my favourite reviews of anything, heartfelt and informative, well done, that was superb

  • Lolz. I played this game in 5.25inch diskettes. There was no voice of course not. This game was time consuming back then since I had no source of walkthrough at all. I still managed to beat this great game. Such an awesome game. Too bad today's generation will miss it.

  • god bless you air in this great review

  • Did ya find Nur Ab Sal down there?

    YOU'RE DEAD MEAT!!!

    LOL!!!!

  • thx for posting

  • thanks for such a great and heartfelt review!

  • Argh. After watching the demo on display at an Electronic Boutique back in the early 1990s I vowed to one day play this game. Several years later I finally got a computer and spent much time playing other old desired games including Myst, Zork Nemesis and Drowned God; however, Fate of Atlantis got buried in a large pile of other point and clicks, never played and forgotten. I feel stupid. Now Ive gotta go on a treasure hunt and see if I still have it. Thanks, TheFinalHighlander :)

  • Worthy of TV. Seriously! 5/5 is just too low a score for these two excellent documentary video's!

  • Your final words really touched me! I've had the same life changing experience with Grim Fandango and Mexican mythology. This was a great review and it's a wonderful coincidence to stumble upon it today, the day that I started replaying Indy 4!

Peace to all the leather jacket salesmen out there...

  • Good review. Wish I could of got past the desert to see all that when I was a kid. It was too hard for me hahaha. Too young I suppose.

  • i was waiting for this game to become a movie =[..a perfect game and awesome review. I love the score for the game especially the last bit in this video. Damn george lucas and his alien ideas! The last part of Kingdom of Crystal skull almost reminded me of the ending to Atlantis though. Memories =/

  • yah.. they could movie tis one... but it would probably suck.

i like the ne movie tough... aliens and the 50`s rule

  • The title says it all

    are you Irish ?

cant figure out your accent :(

  • scottish

  • Quite simply, the best review of any game on You Tube. I would actually call it a 'documentary' - that's how good it is! If I could give it 10/5 I would! Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!

  • i wish they would make more games like this today, especially a new indiana jones one

  • It's been released on steam (the talkie version) Yay! :)

  • Are you going to do Infernal Machine too...?

  • My and my brother thought that insted of the kingdom of the cristal skull they should of made the fate of atlantes as a film.

  • Anything would have been better than bloody ALIENS.

  • Not only you, I was wondering about this for the longest time.

  • Can someone get this in front of LucasArts, Hal Bartwood, or those damn guys over at Amberfish Arts? How anyone can see this and not be compelled to be a part of it again is beyond me. I hope those fangames finish up before this decade is out. Anyone have any news on them?

  • This game is awesome

  • Got to say, absolutely fantastic feature you did on the game dude, It deserves a lot mote hits than what it's got.

I did a feature on Monkey Island and Broken Sword last week too, they didn't do too well either.

  • I had no idea sophia could go into the god machine at the end, thanks for that.

It really is a great game, too bad they didn't turn it into a movie...

  • TheFinalHighlander

Your are the man ! Thanks for the memories bud, this review and game footage was a great reminder of a great era in gaming.

Now all we get is shoot em ups.

Sadly this Indiana Jones game passed me by for some wired reason, I am surprised I didn't know about it until now.

Monkey Island introduced me to the great point & click genre and from there I discovered the amazing Broken Sword & Broken Sword 2 on PSone and Broken Sword 3 on The PS2.

    Review them bud !!

  • Hey, you should check out the game 5 Days a Stranger.

  • love that Minotaur head - you're great fun, mate.

I was hoping to be an "Indy-type" historian but then found out I was in the wrong department. Historians sit in archives not adventure out into the wilds of Peru. dammit.

  • Cool, I can't wait to play this on the Wii!

It's gonna be included as an unlockable in "Staff of Kings" exclusively for Wii.

  • great review and good opinion 5 stars and subbed

my father completed this game, i was to young to understand english but would like to try as well

lets hope that one day this game will be download content on ps3 online i would be awesome

    thank you for sharing

  • i love The Ark Trek theme from Raiders

  • You know its been kind of nagging at me that I didn't use that as the example from Raiders and now your comment has turned it from a nag into an annoyance. I should have used it :( Still, I've still got all the files I used to make the video so I'll edit it in so its in the final version :) Thanks.

  • Did you know this game will be included as a bonus in the upcoming Indiana Jones game for the Wii?

    Pretty cool.

  • So, when can we expect the 30 part Atlantis documentary?

  • Not in the foreseeable future anyway. Probably never.

  • Not a big fan of the point & click games. I prefer something like Little Big Adventure, where you've got more direct control over your character, but an excellent review, as always.

  • great review, got to play this soon.

  • Quoted for truth what you said at the ending about the IJ4 movie. I never understood why they did not make a movie based on that game as the 4th IJ film.

  • Forgot to mention. Empire: Total War in five days. I get it a day b4 you.

  • Another great review David. I am trying to track this game down on torrents and the internet but I am having no luck. I really want to play it. I love Grim Fandango, another great Lucas Arts point and click game. Anyway keep up the good work.

  • i love the clips of the soundtracks

  • Ok, that's it, you've convinced me to get a copy of this game, no matter how.

You can be proud you made a skint student even more skint in less than 20 minutes !

  • A most excellent review good sir. This game looks awesome.

  • Great video, going to go and play some of these games myself now.

  • I played fate of atlantis before i watched the films and thought that the big tough nazi in raiders was arnold. I still like to think this.

  • Great second part.

Yes the game does have its share of light hearted puzzle moments (as do the movies of course). One of my best gaming experiences was from the wits path - getting the crazy idea that Indy could just maybe fire himself from the sub's torpedo tube and - lo and behold, the crazy plan worked out!

Overall wits was my fav. Most intricate puzzles, monte carlo chase scene and coolest entrance to the lost city.

Strange how Lucasarts The Dig had many similarities to this.

  • The one thing that puts me off playing the Wits Path is wandering around Monte Carlo looking down drains. Aside from that it's great.

  • Did you spot the easter egg?? You find the moonstone at the corner of l'avenue de le guerre des etoiles. (Now what does that mean in English? hehe)

  • You know, I never noticed that before.

  • Lol, Star Wars Lane. That's awesome :p

Fantastic in-depth review of what seems to be indeed one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, point-'n-click adventure of all time. I really want to play this now. The good old P&C is probably the genre that gives me the most nostalgic feelings, seeing how those were pretty much the only ones I could run on my old Pentium 100 back in the day :)

My feeling on Crystal Skull is basically that it's shit, so that says it all :p It's a CGI fest.

  • Lol, absolutely greatest find. And I thought "It looks like a chest or an ark ... I've seen that before" and "Surely this is NOT the cup of a carpenter" are the best easter eggs they have there.

  • i always thought that the sound effects at the start of the game when indy and kerner fight were funny.

  • Brilliant review. Congrats! It's obvious how much you love this game, it comes across so well in your review.

Looking forward to your next game review already!

  • You did a really good job on this.

  • This was an absolute pleasure to watch :) This was so well done and really inspired me to want to play this game. I've always been a fan of Indy which is what made this review of yours special to me in its own way. The indy film I have yet to watch! I wonder if you can still find this somewhere to buy? No matter, I shall steal yours! :P

  • Well the full Fate of Atlantis game is being included as an unlockable secret in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings on the wii :)

  • Well then we'll have to get a wii for sure now :P

  • really?

  • Yep.

  • Well done.

I'm glad you avoided the atrocity that is The Crystal Skull.

  • This and Ultima WoA Martian Dreams were my favourite games of my adolescence. It's a shame I don't still have either of them. I bet it's hard to find these old games in good condition in their original boxes. Do you play Indy using DOSbox? I find the emulator sometimes doesn't work with some old DOS games.

  • I use a program called ScummVM which is designed to run these old point and click adventures and works perfectly. It doesn't just run the Lucasarts ones either, even slightly more obscure games like Flight of the Amazon Queen run on it.

  • i got it using the scumm emulator version , best one since it has the fxtown mini synth , so it sounds very much more original ,

  • awesome review ,
