  • What a load of bullcrap.

Fracking for natural gas deposits happens thousands of feet below any aquifers. It is vertually imposible to contaminate an aquafer by fracking for natural gas deposits. It has NEVER happened.

Always be leary of this kind of propaganda with its whistling/guitar strumming background music. What a joke.

  • If you are against natural gas.

Which is the cleanest energy to be found on the planet.

Then you are for nuclear, coal or oil.

So which one do you want to use ?

Gas comes out of just about any well that has ever been dug.

    It is mostly harmless.

It is not in the water.

It is in the gases that come out with the water.

  • Has anyone besides myself noticed that whenever there is death, destruction and/or polution associated with oil and gas wells, Haliburton is involved? They were directly involved in the Gulf Oil well blow out, several foreign disasters and now in Fracking. Could it be that that company is doing this deliberately, because it has control of unpoluted water sources???

  • A twin bill dealing with the oil and gas industries...Queen of England Elizabeth II owns all the offshore oil rigs....does she also own the gas industry? It's outrageous enough that her offshore oil rigs have destroyed the viability of the life in the oceans with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill which is still spewing oil as I type!

  • methane contaminated wells are fixable at an affordable price, looking for wells to work on in Pa ,

  • /watch?v=acBDTpZ2aLE

  • that is all bull s__t.you would all be lost with out gas

  • @benohyde ok then you drink the water out of the tap that has flames coming from it! People are only lost because they are given no alternative. Electric cars are expensive, and not every city has mas transit, the bus system takes hours to get you anywhere which is makes it not an option for people commuting to and from work. The oil and gas company wouldn't be in business if everyone had wind, solar and electric cars, they can't have that they need to make their profits.

  • I'm happy to say that I live in Oregon and I don't believe we allow natural gas wells here. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that Oregon's water is some of the best in the country?

One thing's for sure: I've never been burned by the water I drink.

  • A T T E N T I O N ! ! !

"...In 2001, a special task force on energy policy convened by Vice President Dick Cheney recommended that Congress exempt hydraulic fracturing from the Safe Drinking Water Act. /../

The oil-gas industry is the only industry exempt from the SDWA"

-( more about "BushCheney Loophole" - GOOGLE: "Gasland: Dick Cheney Poisons Your Drinking Water Too")

  • full of lies

  • Can anyone tell us S. CA's if we're safe? Is there a watch dog? Do we count as well or should we just wait? Help me know more please.

  • Let's think about it. If you had a biosphere in a big glass tank, and you wanted all the organisms in that biosphere to be healthy and survive and propagate so that they could have offspring that enjoy the same nature that their ancestors enjoyed, would you want to poison the air or pollute the water in your miniature biosphere? No fracking way! Let's all get solar panels on our roofs so we can have clean, renewable energy that we don't have to go to war for.

  • wow i agree with jettune03 but then again im 14

  • @benjaminlately Thanks for injecting some logic into this comment string. It amazes me that so many people are over-hyped into thinking HF is dangerous. Over a million wells have been drilled over >60 years using HF. Even if there were a dozen scientifically-verifiable HF aquifer contaminations (which there aren't), HF would remain safer than driving a car. Most everyone still uses fossil-powered vehicles, though. Gasland is slander, calumny, libel, and defamation... a crock of shit.

  • Some of the chemicals found in Halliburton's fluid mixture include formaldehyde, ammonium chloride, acetic anhydride, methanol, hydrochloric acid, and propargyl alcohol. Haliburton refuses to release the rest of the hazardous material to make slippery water , granted protection from the Bush administration , this remains in effect !

Why has Obama not rescinded that secret .Profit over life.

  • The people responding to this with denial are obviously just scared, and I don't blame them. This is pretty terrifying, and for the most part we're all left feeling quite helpless about it as this minority of powerful, selfish, immature, greedy people ruin the planet for the rest of us. But ignoring, rationalizing, or denying the problem isn't going to help us here. We need to face our fears and do something about this before it's too late. Just believe that we each can make a difference.

  • I just hope my beer is safe to drink! With all that is going on I need a few to deal with this shite!!!

  • We Need Nuclear. There is no way to get the needed energy from Solar and wind, Wind is not reliable enough (A several percent variation in output between years, this would mean you would need a substantial oversupply of wind to guard against bad years. This is expensive.) and solar works relatively well in the south where the main powerdraw is the Air Conditioning (meaning on sunny summer days) it doesn't work well further north where a lot of the powerdraw is for heating.

  • @CattyRayheart . for Air conditioning... Whats Wrong with Using Solar Power ?? as the hotter it gets the more power the Sun Gives

  • @CattyRayheart Hey check this out: landartgenerator [DOT] org /blagi/archives/127 I don't want my children to have to deal with all the nuclear waste left behind by reactors. I also think the risk is too great for meltdown, because many are outdated and not able to withstand natural disasters (ie. unexpected earthquakes hitting the nuclear plant in Virginia) What's the worst that can happen if you live next to a solar panel? You get a dark suntan.

  • Here is what i also found... The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. investigated the Markham and McClure water wells, each referenced in the movie Gasland. Sample results showed that the water wells contained naturally occurring biogenic methane gas. In each case, the Commission found that the complaints were unrelated to oil and gas activities.

  • @lfcovelli You have to remember that that report was being filed by an orginization that was pro-gas. Do you think they would tell us if gas drilling was harmful? I really doubt that they are being honest here, that or they are just fooling themselves. I would only trust a test performed by a non-biased orginization.

  • One glaring error in the film is the suggestion that gas drilling led to the September fish kill at Dunkard Creek in Greene County. That was determined to have been caused by a golden algae bloom from coal mine drainage, (from CONSOL Energy discharge), NOT natural gas drilling.

  • I had my water well fracked. to get more water output.. no harm done there..

    Another Eco Wacko scare tactic.

  • We will go down in history as the most suppressed generation in history due to capitalisms humpbacked cancer filled pus gut's reign over scientific advancements and social evolution.

  • @renado1a Water-powered hydrogen cars have already been invented but their mass production mysteriously disappears. BBC reports:

    Youtube: "H2O Car - Water Powered Car " (v=Jivb7lupDNU)

Many fully electric battery and solar cars have been manufactured but Big autos mysteriously keep them from going public beyond a small test population.

  • @renado1a I won't argue with that statement. I advocate utilizing many energy sources so that there is redundancy in the system. We are too tied to oil right now. I support natural gas development in hope that we are less likely to start any new wars with countries over oil. We have enough gas domesticity to handle all of our energy usage for the next 30+ years, and we already have some infrastructure in place. If it reduced oil consumption by 10% it would very significant.

  • Just to appease anti-fracking movement halliberton has release an "Eco friendly Fracking Fluid", and have a feeling they will be the first of many to release a fracking fluid with "food use fracking fluid"

  • @renado1a We are probably going to be looking at $5 gas this summer as much as you want wind and solar power is isn't going to happen. Read my other new comment before you freak about the fracking fluid ending up in driking water. Google geothunder if you would like to post a longer rant. I'll be happy to take you down point by point.

  • Prius... waste of a car. There are better alternatives that get just as many or more miles per gallon without batteries. Yes I think the chemicals are OK because THEY DO NOT END UP IN THE DRINKING WATER! I work with this stuff and study it. There are cases where fracking should not be allowed, but it is case by case. Most people who claim to have contaminated water don't understand the difference between fracking fluid and mobilized gas. (still bad, but not caused by fracking)

  • this couldn't be more wrong.... Gasland is based on fear, not facts. Try doing your own research

  • We need water not gas. We can make alcohol to replace gas because eventually gas will run out anyway.

  • The 3 people that disliked this are RIDICULOUS! How sad is it that Republicans are so money hungry that it's the Democrats & Green Party that have to warn us and try to resolve these situations!? Unfortunately for people like that karma is a B****! I DON'T DRINK TAP WATER and I encourage others not to either!!! Trustno1!!!!!

  • @brittneyhalsey wow... hypocritical. What do you keep your water in? I bet it is a petroleum based product. You are probably getting more nasty stuff in your system by drinking out of plastic containers than you would get from drinking tap water.

  • you must see this video. A message from a group of artists in Québec Canada : WO ! shale gaz (on youtube)

  • @trina3921 Yes, I have watched the "documentary" 3 times and every time I watch it I find new lies Fox spouts off as fact.

Most of those dangerous chemicals you refer to are found in every day products in small amounts and they don't hurt you. The amount of chemicals they use seems like a lot, but when you add millions of gallons of water and consider dilution if it were to leak into ground water your looking at a small problem.

Google Geothunder to respond. I do not think leaks are ok...

  • @trina3921 we are talking about an agenda of a man using scare tactics to stop drilling of one of the cleanest burning fuels we have.

You do speak sheep because I haven't seen anyone here who understands how the process works. Most places fracking is safe, but comes down knowing the geology of an area.

Natural gas has always been found in water, and oil companies are not necessarily the problem.

  • I like your music, but other than that you have no idea what you are talking about. Gasland was a total load of crap, but it managed to make people think that fracking was a problem so I suppose he sort of temporally won. Google "Geothunder" to respond to me, and then so that the posts can be long enough to get your point across.

  • @benjaminlately I read the "geothunder" crap...

It couldn't be a weaker defense.

Crap like, I only credited fox for finding 'a few" cases... crap like "its up to the government to regulate", (while on the video the government dick head even say out loud that he doesn't give a shit and proud to provide job and not depends on foreign gas and support lol terrorism.

The only remotely valid question is that he raised a point that "water could sometime be lit on fire" eitherway LOL. Failed.

  • @garytcw I'm thinking you didn't actually read the whole post if that is what you took away from it.

  • You should check the more info out in my playlist called "radioactive water" it has patents on radioactive tracers they use for the fracking process.

  • @jettune03 oh give me a break !! who cares I guess that is all you can get me for a type-o it happens to everyone. Second of all We don't drive we ride bikes and not only that we have solar panels. So,ya I do have the right to complain as I don't like breathing polluted air.

  • @haostrom Typical morons. I love it when they say nuclear energy is also clean and safe. As soon as the corporate cocksuckers can patent the sun we will be using solar energy.PS F#ck Halliburton. Thanks for the video.

  • @jettune03 Exactly. Say someone poisoned your food at a restaurant, and you and your family were hospitalized and had health problems for the rest of your lives. It would be your fault for eating.

Besides a real conservative would be glad to die a horrible death from cancer, for the joy and rapture in knowing that someone made some money from it. they'd even be glad to watch their children die, if they knew that this made it possible for a lot of money to go into a Dubai bank account.

  • @jettune03 Yes we do have a right to complain! We are born into infrastructures erected w/o our consent & which operate outside of our control: in order to physically survive, we are forced to operate within them, even if their activities lead to the oppression of ourselves or others & the ultimate destruction of our progeny. It is our job to stop the cartel and the state's suppression of green technologies - "Who killed the electric car?" is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't own a car btw.

  • @jettune03 you know its the people like you who are the cause of this, sure all is fine when you have money in your pocket but do you realize what harm this could cause to the water sources yes that includes your drinking water so if you want to die of cancer that is fine with me but let me tell you that you will be sorry once you can set fire to your water because it has been contaminated with naturel gas

  • american stupidity if it aint happening to me it aint happening all of you are drowning in this peice of shit system. i wanted to cry when i saw this gasland documentary i love this earth. like cb radio u run your mouth . but when u met me your mouth will stop u wanna bet

  • @TheWezid

Gasland is propaganda film made by the 1% super rich.

They have their money and now do not want to have any eyesore industries within their view of the countryside.

They are people who have also invested in wind and solar and now see cheap natural gas as a threat to their investments.

Natural gas is the cheapest and cleanest energy to be found on the planet.

People who have invested in other energy sources want to stop clean gas.

    Don't be fooled by them.

  • Thanks for posting this video. How do I find out if the natural gas deposits in the Sacramento Valley in CA have been fraced????

  • Thanks for posting this video. I am, however, wondering how to find out if the natural gas deposits within the Sacramento Valley have been tapped using fracing????

  • @Smith20106 Tell that to the people that have been poisoned by the hydro-fracing process.

  • @haostrom Ha ha, I love how people will randomly defend energy companies and say this isn't happening without giving any reasons or explanation, which makes sense since they don't have one.

  • @Smith20106 go eat a dick and die asshole. you don't have to be a 'treehugger' to not want your land ruined and your family poisoned. Go 'frack' somewhere that doesn't ruin people's lives!

  • fuck wind ! idk we need gas now ! my hole house is on NG gas

  • and W Bush bought huge water reserves in south america?

Get ready for you water company to be called BUSH

  • @bushtyranny yes and everyone was wondering why he bought that land. Now I am certain the it was because his buddies from the oil industry are polluting our water supply for their own gain. It is so disgusting. What a disgusting piece of trash Bush.

  • Good movie to expose the crooks Bush and Dick! I am in drill area and have suspected well water for awhile now. Shame on ranchers selling their mineral rights to big oil. They get the poluuted land they deserve. But anybody wondering about all the cows that drink this water and wind up as a 1/4 pounder burger on your plate?

  • good to see, i've heard a lot of talk about fracking

  • Good vid. Reverse Osmosis for water, carbon and 3m filtrete or HEPA for air. R/O membrane is only real thing that keeps crap out of water.

  • @vashguud you should watch the documentary Gasland on HBO or if you don't have it HBO you can find all kinds of stuff on the net. R/O doesn't work due to the chemicals they are using. I can't quite remember exactly what chemical it is but it corrodes the filters and lets the chemical through anyway. The tap water literally lights on fire. It is crazy.
