  • dude why is King Triton always so buff?

  • if you look at 5:28 and cut of his ponytail he looks just like prince eric....

  • I love the use of stock music here.

  • I love how this version had a happy ending, but did she ever get her voice back?

  • ave Maria made me cry so much

  • The prince is like a skinny Eric from the Disney movie lols

  • i wish i could download that sweet song and the end.

  • Awww such a sweet ending. This is how Hans Christian Anderson SHOULD have ended it. So much better! I have searched for a little mermaid like this for so long but other than Disney's there haven't been any. They've all been so sad. Thank you for posting this!

  • They do (choose to not have war) but still a lot of movies that involve kindoms marrying their children to avoid war (why can't kingdoms just be peaceful WITHOUT making their children marry who they don't wanna marry)

  • ACTUALLY both sides (parents) need to grow up War isn't the ANSWER just cuz you don't get what you want

  • @LadySpellcaster Ariel sacrifices her voice and gets it back, big deal. That's not a sacrifice. In the end she gets her legs, her prince, everything she wants at no cost other than Ursula's life.

I know the story quite well, thank you. I've seen both stories hundreds of times.

  • @TaranWanderer2

Ariel's happy ending was not without sacrifices though, as explained by directors John Musker and Ron Clements in the "Story Behind The Story" segment in the DVD, Ariel understands that in order to live her happy life with Eric, she has to give up her old life in the sea, and Triton understands that in order for his daughter to be truly happy, he has to learn to let her go. Hence why Ariel and Triton hug each other at the end.

  • @1987AnimeBoy But no, because if Ariel had remained in the sea she would have been 'miserrrrrable for the rest of her life." So, I hardly consider that a sacrifice.

  • LOL 6:53 this is DELIIGHTFUL haha

  • wow, that''s cheap. at least in the disney version she gets her voice back and gets the prince

  • @TheLadyLala22 At least these people remembered that Hans Andersen's "The Little Sea-Maid" was a story about making the ultimate sacrifice.

  • Well, this is bullshit. She was supposed to turn into foam.

  • ''oh they're getting married''

  • *Cuffs* CHEEP DISNEY ENDING *Cuffs*

  • @rockinamber18 The ending is very different from the Disney one. In case you've missed it.

  • @rockinamber18; well, they're not going to kill the herorine in a show for kids; the fairytale with the mermaid dying is depressing

  • I really like this cartoon! It may have bad animation, but is has great story and nice twists! : D

  • @jacobzeier It doesn't have bad animation at all. It has 'low-budget' animation.

  • The band got more applause than the king and queen

  • 1:10 omg she's hot xD

  • Either the birds were a joke, or they just completely switched the parts without realizing. The male bird has eyelashes...

  • @UTAU53Yui But then they switched again and now the female has the eyelashes... What's up with this strange inconsistenties (sp?)???

  • Do you guys know the name of the music on 8:10? Please let me know....

  • @amytsab Ave Maria

  • @amytsab Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod.

  • Does she still not have her voice?

  • this is was pointless

  • so she doesnt talk anymore ?

  • @secretsxoxo1 No, she sacrifices her voice to get her wish. She doesn't simply get her every whim in exchange for nothing like Ariel does in Disney's version.

  • i love the 2 lil birds
