I remeber playing it when it first came out in 2001 (I was six at the time). My dad told me the basic controls and off I went. I loved the campaign and single player missions but the editor was a bit complicated for me to use so I just built bases and had one group attack another. Fond memories.

Yeah, OFP2 isn't made by the same people that made the first one, it's just released by the same Publisher (Codemasters), which is why they could keep the name.

Bohemia Interactive (the developers) went on to make ArmA and ArmA II, which are both great games and the true heirs to the Operation Flashpoint throne.

Ye, Flashpoint has great replay value, lots of great mods and awesome and easy to use mission editor.

After almost a decade original Flashpoint still is the lord of all wargames and indeed one of the best games ever made. Arcade shooters like CoD and Battlefield have nothing against this masterpiece.

Codemasters published Operation Flashpoint they did not develop it. BI Studios developed OFP but of course since everyone knows Codemasters owns the name Operation Flashpoint BI studios had to come up with a different name. I also know that some of the people that created OFP have joined Codemasters to help make OFP2 but ArmA2 will more then likely be the better game in my opinion.
