I think I remember seeing something on animal planet a while back about how the domestic cat is the number one killer. Just because it has such a wide array of prey.
@ThatBrettKid shut up idiot. unless you are a monkey, then you are hypocritical too. the cat will eat thst squirrel. hes just going to play with it first. didnt you ever plsy with food? i know i did.
@MrSorbain That's real life. Cats kill things primordially. They're voracious predators and thrill-killers. This is one sample of a thrill-kill by a cat; there were probably 10 million others that day.
thats the very reason why i kill every cat i see...i dony care whos it is.. if i see it and the chance is there.. its dead. i've killed alot of stray cats.....even neighbors cats...lol . they kill for fun!! i dont care if " thats what they do". well thats what i do too. kill them back.
@brooke14100 wow your a big man. SO you kill people's pets which is like killing a member of someone's family. Cats are following instinct! my dog killed a few of our hamsters but he didn't do it for fun its instinct to them. I'm not gonna go kill the family dog no matter how mad i am. You probably ran over a few dogs as well right? "Omg! that dog killed a lizard for fun"! Tard...
@crazitaco I bet that was a bit too much excitement for the day. My sister's cat brought in a live frog once. It's the only time I've ever heard her shriek.
when I was a kid I lived way out in the country we had cats that never got feed if they didn't catch there own food when one had a litter of kittens they would go out and catch rabbits and squirrels and bring them in to there little ones
Squirrels are mean and impossible to catch to human hands. But it's incredible how a cat can use their stalking ambush techniques to set up the signature felidae pounce to neck bite their prey. I love all cats big and small.
that squirrel had a wife, and kids, he just got that big new promotion at the office! he was the funniest squirrel... u know what, u dont even know! YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!
it's not that cats are more dangerous, it's because there are so many of them.
people used to keep a small bell on their cats if they went outside to prevent uneccessary predation on birds and other critters.....

c'mon, people shoot squirrels for sport cat kills little rodent and all of the sudden 16 PETA people disliked this video....thats what cats do they hunt
That'll be the day, when there's too few squirrels in the cities.
Cities have no wildlife. They're more like giant terraria with crazy amounts of food that attract the few critters that can adapt - crows, squirrels, rats, raccoons, and songbirds. You'll never find these animals concentrated in the wild like they are in cities, no matter how many are killed by domestic cats. And you'll never find as many killed by cats as are killed by automobiles, either. If you drive, quit complaining.
how inhumane is this.. why not keep your cat indoors so it cannot kill wildlife? Cats are responsible for over 3 billion bird deaths every year in this country. This is just so wrong on every level .. and that you enjoy it speaks volumes :(
i never let my cat do that if i see my cat did that and I dare my cat stay small room learn lesson that not respect ....If i see cat caught bird or squirrel and I will talk owner must be respect have warm home than homeless
Wow I really didn't think there was going to be so many people who would bash on this video. Its not like I made the cat attack the squirrel. I walked outside and saw it. Big fucking deal!
@clamloki666 ya...ppl bashing about this is stupid. my cat b4 sum1 ran her over would eat the birds in a nest then eat the mom wen it tried to attack her. also ate all the frogs and toads around the house, all the lizards, the snakes, attacked the neighborhood dogs for fun as well as the ducks and geese, and just about anything else that she could sink a claw or tooth into. yet she was pretty obiedient towards me and my mom. but its wat out door cats do...
@Icewind007 WRONG. A cat is a domesticated animal and they have NO place out in the wild. They are NOT a native species, and owners like this are allowing them to make a huge dent in our native wildlife. Educate yourself, learn about the impact cats have on wildlife.. but that would take some time and effort on your part I guess.. you'd rather watch sick videos of animals being mauled.
@danceswithmoths Do you have any clue about instincts, about all the other "intrusive" animals that we have that cats kill? About how our wildlife is not static, but ever changing and updating itself to meet status-quo?
A cat is not much changed from their desert dwelling ancestors. They are extremely capable of living in nature as it is. After all, we've killed off or driven off any other predator to handle rodents and control the population. Cats equalize our wildlife, if anything.
@Icewind007 Cats kill rodents and small animals that NATIVE wildlife depend on (like hawks, owls, fox, etc). Yeah, I have a clue. Cats have no place in the wild, they're an introduced DOMESTIC animal.
@danceswithmoths You missed my point. In most urban environments, where cats are most likely to be, there are very few native wildlife predators. However, rodents and other fast breeding animals still manage to thrive.
Since the ecosystem is already out of balance due to this, the introduction of cats helps even this out. They are one of a few urban predators that are actually allowed to generally wonder about without being shot or killed indiscriminately.
@Icewind007 I'm a life-long naturalist, and I have studied ornithology for many years. Hawks and owls THRIVE in urban areas, despite the fact we keep removing their habitat. Cats upset the balance in nature and you can type until the cows come home but the fact remains they are dessimating native wildlife It's not the cat's fault they're out there killing everything they can catch. It's the irresponsible owners who allow them to do this. If you feel a squirrel is a pest, please stay in the city
@danceswithmoths The pests that are thriving are rats and mice, a good part of the diet of an outside cat. Hawks and owls are still too uncommon compared to their prey counterparts to keep the balance. Cats are some of the greatest we have, and even then they are still too few.
Squirrels multiply with no problem and are not even in the slightest "decimated" due to cats. They are just like any other on their level of the food chain and need predators to keep them in check.
@Icewind007@Icewind007 Too few free roaming cats? I have no more to say. There is plenty of documented information and facts on the net regarding this issue, if you care to learn. My guess is you don't.. I'm sorry, but the needs of a DOMESTIC animal does not trump that of our native wildlife.
@danceswithmoths You seem to be the one who is clueless... I suppose I do not live in the slums you are used to, but there are not many roaming cats where I live, as you seem to assume there is. I know the facts. I've seen the research. Cats are hardly an animal problem and they certainly do not have a large impact on the local wildlife here.
Also, you can hardly call native wildlife in any urban area truly wildlife. They are influenced by people and, therefore, a new ecosystem is created.
@77982 ...I dont even want to start again repeating everything about the circle of life. Squirrels are mouses in essence anyway you know? Go whine somewhere else, this isnt anything the owner could have (nor should have) avoided, the cat is just being a cat.
hate cats cuz every selfish assholes let them over everywhere and my neightbourhood is full of them and i hate them my ferrets can kill much faster rodents and its less painless for the rodents so not like a stupid cat playing with it a hour and then trys to eat them even my jackrussel can kill them faster and my policedogss
