I lived in GR most of my adult life and I LOVED this place. I made it a point to go there regularly for their Eggs Benedict...I've never had it anywhere else that even comes close ..It's one of the things I miss the most since I moved out of state!

just went there today based on this video. The Eggs Benedict is out of this world!!

Thanks for the comment! It's close but the Cottage Bar website says, "A Grand Rapids tradition since 1927".  That makes the Cherie In just a few years older. That's why they say they're the oldest "downtown".

I think the Cottage Bar is actually the oldest restaurant in G.R.
