Elephants are one of the most sensitive animals - they deserve respect and - a certain distance. What would you do, if you surrounded by cars all the time?

It was very obvious, it's the humans who had disturbed the herd that got most of the adults and large teenagers to be so agitated. Why say they had issues with one another?, when it's clear they were charging the car, every few minutes?
Of course, once their agitation reached a certain threshold, w/ hormones running high, they could easily turn on each other, too. But the original source of agitation was the HUMANS, not each other, as they had a lot of small babies to protect in that bush.
When one of those stupid idiots get killed they will undoubtedly blame the elephants. What arrogant dumb asses!! And they always cry the blues when some idiot like these gets killed. Well hell, don't put yourself in dumbassed situations. And how about when you see they are getting pisssed you realize it is you who have invaded their homoe and get the hell away!! I hate arragant dumb asses!!
why didnt the elephants kill them i would have felt better if atleast one of them was used b elephants as football. it would have been awsome elephants playing football with a human being.
If that were my guide, I would have pushed him or her out of the car and left them there to deal with the consequences. I would bet you that they still would not have learned their lesson either. Live an let live. I'm appalled that they even are allowed to be a guide at all. I would have ripped him a new behind if that behavior was demonstrated around me. He probably has lots of kids too. When are tourists going to get it right? You'd be awefully angry too if aliens seemed intent on getting close to you, too! People can be so, well, human! When are you going to realize that the animals are sentient, cinscious beings complete with emotions, fears, and loves just like us?

@zamoua its not about being protected by rifles, its about respecting the animal and responding appropriately to its behavior. the elephants didnt want the people there, all their ear flapping growling trumpeting and crazy movements were "leave us alone" signals. the people had no right to provoke the elephants, even if they werent intending to. the guide should have been more knowledgeable and removed themselves from the area. its not healthy to stress any wildlife out like that.

And I thought I was stupid with elephants in Hluhluwe National Park when I got too close to three of them with my car. In that instance, one came within about 12 feet of the vehicle, putting its ears out and trunk up, in a false charge. If nothing else, the very bold (not smart!) safari drive leader in this video footage really stressed these elephants out.
Seems like there were a lot of small ones... Any situation where there are a lot of offspring around, the animals are sure to be more agitated than they normally would be.
Great video! I'm quite surprised that you guys stayed their all the time, in stead of getting away, these elephants made clear several times that they didn't like your company. Why didn't your driver drive away?

I have seen lots of Elephants myself but this situation is absolutely stupid and very dangerous without any respect for the Elephants.
