I saw stan a couple days earlier at the Highline Ballroom, amazing show, luckilly someone taped it! i wanted to go to this one too, but since it was a bar it was entry only for 21 and older.... i was 15 or so at the time... I have a full dvd of stan playing at this same place back in 1996, but this is a much better angle despite the substandard sound quality. joe's drumming compliments stan's music in ways its not the same without... i wish stan still toured with him.. thanks a lot for posting!!
I saw Ridgeway perform under a single lightbulb hanging from the middle of the stage in Kansas City. It was surreal. Ridgeway is fantastic. The man is an artist advante-gard!
Yeah, i heard the police weren't that good, although you can at least say you saw them. Stan was great that night and as usual it wasn't crowded, so it was perfect night to see the show.
too bad the sound quality is lousy, but thanks for posting. i wait years for him to come back to maxwell's, and i have the misfortune of having to see the police at giants stadium. everyone said the police shows had gotten better after their rough start; if i had known how much it was going to suck, i would have threw away the money and gone to see stan. he never disappoints!
