@RXforJazz ....I know how the car runs. On ET Streets the car has no problem laying drags. Still have not taken it over 5 grand since the break in period. I need to get a new camera and a stabilizing camera mount to make some more videos of the car playing on the street. You gotta understand something about a car like this: It is like bundled nervous energy---a chainsaw without a a safety brake. It can kill you if you are not careful, as well as the idiot drivers in other cars.
@Sleighisle .....Never heard this before. People used to say that I rode a skateboard weird---feet were in the wrong position, but it worked pretty well. Right foot is for the fun pedal, left foot is for the unfun pedals.
I do believe I can drive with a manual gearbox. Check some of my older videos....like the ones at the track.
@guitarboii7 lol they would laugh at him if it were put under the sniffer test. it especially won't pass if you have any race fuel in there because of the lead in the fuel.
It has not been out since November and the motor still has not been taken about the 5000 rpm mark. Maybe this spring/summer I will attach a different camera to the mount and spin it up to see what it wants to do.
It has essentially a stock Muncie 4 speed in it, and that is the weak link in the chain for sure. Previous motors have twisted the input shafts, this one would likely break the input shaft. I have a spare in such a case.
I put in subframe connectors, welded them in place. Removed all of the rubber body mount bushings and put in solid aluminum ones. Leaf spring bushings were also replaced with aluminum cores. Motor mounts and transmission mount are also solid.
Pillar post cracks stopped moving after that work was done. The places where lead filler were used when the car was built is the most likely place you will see movement.
@iliveinpublic might want to check out the new RS600 5 speed from Keisler i bought a T56 6 speed from them for my 68 it bolted right in with no floor pan mods.
I thought of one more question. Since you're in one of the F-Bodies, how did you reinforce the car so you wouldn't break your Camaro? I'm thinking I would need a tube frame modification to run such a setup... my car is simply one generation newer frame, but same basic issues.
Question - the 720R is supposed to use 110 octane fuel. I'm wondering if you use it (likely) and if so, how available is it? I've found only a couple places that might carry it and I'm in a big city.
I'm looking at puting one of these in my 77 Trans Am :)
It is supposed to use Race gas. With a little detuning, you can run pump gas in it without a problem. I run a 1/3 pump gas mix with race gas. Timing backed off 7 degrees, jets bumped up a few sizez, and plugs one step hotter. I just pedal around on the street though and have not wrapped it up anywhere near the red line yet.
Hot Rod did an article about their detuning steps. Google "King crate gm doesn't want you to see" and the first result should be the article.
Yeah, lots of lights and stop signs in town. Car only goes to places that are close enough to drive to. Have not driven it enough to find out how hot it can get in the summer heat, but I will soon enough.
Thanks for the comments. Looks like you have a bitchin Chevelle with a rat in it.
is the zz572 720r run on race fuel only or can it run on pump gas ?

Hey dude!
What are you doing with your legs?
Don't you know how to drive with a manual gearbox?
You must keep your left leg on the clutch pedal all the time and the right leg must move between the brake and acceleration pedals!
Dude.

@iliveinpublic So are you running that 720R on pump gas?
The05ZX10R 1 year ago
It is a mix of race and pump gas. Part of the method is described in a comment below.
