You cant use it.Only the Wii remote by itselfs or the Wii remote with the Nunchuck.

@xavierwarlock Trust me, play this thing a while, you will experience little more than frustration and anger. The game is fun to watch but it is no fun at all to play and frankly, there hasn't been a Mario game worth playing since Mario 64.
