You're lucky. A partial tear like that definitely heals better than a complete tear like i had. I was on crutches for over a month and then a cane for a while before I could even walk, forget about squats. lol But eventually, things got better. I don't think I was squatting again for several months though.
That's not a proper squat, that's why you can do this easily 4 weeks post OP. I had same surgery 7 weeks ago and 4 weeks after I got back to doing squats but I could only do 132 pounds (60kg) and it was hard. Before surgery I was doing 286 pounds (130kg) easily. Correct squatting involves your legs being shoulder width apart and when you go down your hips need to go lower than your butt. To see what a real squat should look like search here: StrongLifts Member Myles (20, Canada) Squats 405 lbs.
@mohawk200x Actually his form is quite good, wide stance low bar. Your vid, if you look at your knees, they buckle a little. Read Starting Strength, by Mark Rippetoe (I"m sure you know if you into SL). Pushing the knees out is a cue. Mehdi would tell you the same,he's written plenty on the subject. Props for squatting that weight at your size though. But don't bash this guy's video, because he is doing proper squats.
if u are quick healer and young, u can actually do it with one week... ^^ but those leg muscles what this guy has, is kinda difficult to put work same... so it will add some week indeed...
A "free weight" squat after a knee surgery with a free weight that is just irresponsible to yourself.
He is asking for a serious problem to me (knee blow out and dropping the weight. and at 285 lbs.. ? Seems crazy.
