I have a '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ the same issue...... My question is that the weatherstrip doesn't make a tight for on the corners. Does weatherstrip shrink overtime?
Is the strip you put back tight on the outer corners?

@Schush the weatherstrip could shrink over time. I don't remember on this vehicle how well it fit in the corner. I do remeber that when it was back together I was happy with how the weatherstrip was installed.
