did u take a restrictor off ur ruckas I bought 1 for 250 with a few issues and the tran case is off so i figured why not take it off why i got the case off. my qestion is is it possible sry if any confusion
I will post a link to a forum in the video description where you can find all the answers you are looking for. That washer is not a restrictor, unless it was put in the wrong place. Best to leave it where you found it. The case cannot rust, it is aluminum, it can corrode slightly. If the kickstart cannot move you can take the piece out and grease it up. I bet your circlip is no longer in the right place, check that. You may need grease and a pair of circlip pliers to fix it
@WoodcockMichael ok so were do i get 1 im 20 not sum lil 13 yr old fag just try n to beef up his scooter I weight 200 pounds need to go a lil bit faster than 40
Are you in the USA? I will message you some links in a bit. You can get a variator from battlescooter and a case from ronayers if you are in te USA. You will also need a few other mods to be able to go over 40 if you have an older, pre-2006 ruckus
very entertaining vid, both informative and pretty funny! i loled pretty hard when "oh, forgot to put the exhaust back on". But also had no idea how to change oil, so thanks bro! =)
I just changed my oil and got back to my ruckus later in the evening. Now I cant rev the throttle without the motor choking off. WTF!! I put a fresh filter also, I took off the air filter to see if that was it but it still choked itself out. I used valvo synth blend 10w40. ANy ideas?
who ever is playing that recorder in the back round sucks. i would know i sound like that when i play when i was little lol. im sure he or she will get better.
Hint: after you have let the oil drain, pour about 2 or 3 OZ of fresh oil in while the drain plug is off. This will help to flush out any of the remaining scum oil. Be careful with the oil screen nut. It's made of alluminum and strips very easy. Since the oil is so cheap and easy to change, I do a change about every 800Km
your supposed to use honda pro gn4 oil, clean the oil filter, and put the oil plug in at 18 ft pounds and the filter at 14 ft pounds of toque. and if you let the oil out into that bottle just put your mark on how much came out. thanks for trying though =)
The Ruckus doesn't have an "oil filter" it has a screen that you can clean out but I think that's what you probably meant. I think any good 4 stroke oil with work. I've seen the Honda progn4 oil going for as much as $10.00 a liter (Canada) while other good 4 stroke oil can be had for about 3 or 4 bucks. Some Ruckers use car oil. The Ruckus doens't have a clutch so it's no biggie.
Good video, but when you check the level after changing the oil you didn't warm it up. Make sure the engine and oil are warm when checking the dip stick so that you get an accurate reading.
your welcome, check out totalruckus dot com, they have lots of info on there, and, if you change the oil, never overfill, you will loose performance, and flood the air filter, make sure it is exactly half way up the hash marks
do you have to mix oil with the gasoline when you are at the gas station?

@kosmosleha
No, the ruckus is a four stroke engine, like your average car. You change the oil every 3000 miles.

@peckerwood479 The ruckus does not have a restrictor. You can change to an aftermarket variator and that will increase your speed a little.

what kind of oil do you use
koolbean02 3 years ago
why did you take the exhaust off? Is this necessary? I've never had to do that? I've always used a goose neck funnel.

So it doesn't matter if you get water in your oil tank?
