@MortHamp The piece Helo and Kara listen to in her old apartment is by Philip Glass, Metamorphosis One from his album Solo Piano. You can find numerous postings for it here on Youtube. It's one of the few "outside" pieces of music used on the show.
Starbuck was an angel. The hybrid in Razor says so. "They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into the many, and then they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning. "
This song is nice, I don't remember where or what episode it was played on but it seems all of the musci done by McCreary was well suited for this show.
Oh God no ! I wouldn't dare do that, I would be afraid that having this song interrupting my dreams every morning would make me hate it xD
This piece is so beautiful, definitely in my top 5 of Bear McCreary with the Roslin and Adama theme, Passacaglia, Dreilide Thrace Sonata and Kobol's Last Gleaming.
I loved when Kara was hopped up on morpha and said "I love Sam, I hate Same... I love Lee, I hate Lee" and then Dee slapped her... funniest moment ever of Galactica... Dee needed her to talk her through the rewiring of the raptor so they could get back to Galactica, but she also got to get a little bit of revenge with that slap... classic.
The other side? We don't know if she's in an afterlife, alive in some other form or gone into oblivion. She was dead, truly but sent back by "God" to guide humanity to it's "destruction". Much like Gandalf the white, she had no reason to exist once her mission was complete. So she's gone. As far as I'm concerned, she is dead and gone.
I believe also she was dead, the saddest part about the final episode was where Kara new that she couldn't stay and when she asked lee what he really wanted to do now, he went off and expressed it but didn't know she wanted him to turn around and not see her disappear to nothing. As with the mind Baltar and Mind 6, they where "angels" in a sense. Remember Carl Sagan made the comment that it's hard to tell magic from science if its advanced enough.
Haha.. I remember hearing the beginning part in the show and thinking "my god will they get him to stop playing that dreadful racket". Once I finally got the soundtrack and I actually heard this I was totally stunned at how lusciously beautiful this piece is. Very reminiscent of Phillip Glass's piece used in season 2.
Haha I just watched that episode today. One of the best openings to an episode, for sure. Possibly the best ever, except maybe Kobol's Last Gleaming pt. 1 and Lay Down Your Burdens part 1. ;)
go to edgewood marching mustangs 2011 and listen till the second song featured in the show which is this song

It was something a little different. It may have been the other similar sounding song on the soundtrack or Metamorphosis 1

@MortHamp nope, that one actually is "Dreilide Thrace Sonata No.1", but you are right, those two are quite similar

Funny, those tracks you mentioned with Battlestar Sonatica are also my favourite.

Phillip Glass's piece was from the Thin Blue Line, the analogy is pretty funny in itself.
SomeOne to Watch Over Me was awesome, one of the top episodes in the series.

nope, it's 1. 5 & 1 were meant to be the same, at least what my music professor told me years back.

This has been written only for Season 4 - "Someone to Watch Over Me" episode

mrd16140 2 years ago
It is similar, but it sounds a bit different.
The episode is Valley of Darkness (about twenty minutes into it).

That was actually a Phillip Glass song. It has a similar feel to it though.
