Until watching your videos i sort of shied away from shotgun shooting coz i thought it would require coordination well beyond my capabilities, but you make it look much less scary and heaps of fun!
Still gonna be a while til can i can properly get into it though, i'm just about to hand over the dosh for a .308 heavy barrelled howa lol.
I love rabbits. Not only are they usually closer to you than thrown birds, but your friends can tell you exactly how you missed because your shot kicks up dirt.
The pattern distribution is going to depend on the gun and how it is setup. Most sporting guns are 50/50. There are some good tips here but I found that hard focus on the rabbit, starting the gun barrels low with the move->mount-> and then pulling the trigger as soon as the comb hits my cheek works much better than trying to aim at an imaginary front paw. Also, shooting low in hopes that the shot will skip on the ground will not work if the ground is wet and soft.
sick tellin lads this..... so so true all or most at least are missed above and too far in front..... interesting the 60% is above the rib though eh!!!
why does 2/3 of the spread go above the horizontal?

I went shooting the other day and hit the rabbit twice. It was the first time I've ever been before.

Does the "2/3 shot spread" also apply to a single barrel pump?
Encore315 8 months ago
@Encore315 Yes it will! One shell is being shot from a barrel at a time. There shouldn't be a drastic difference between the two types of guns.
