I really wanted to be a part of this. There was a post for guitarists wanted on craigslist here in stl but the requirements were that you had to be able to read music and I cant. Oh well I was sick when it happened anyways. I hope st.louis symphony decides to host this again so maybe I can attend next time.
Just read the side info and realized that's actually Robertson in the red shirt playing guitar - how cool is that. John Myers did a great job directing this fracas!
then the question obviously arise: if you do not like the real thing, why do you like the aural hallucination of something you dislike? I personally can't judge because I haven't been there, but I like the idea of the composer of questioning Symphony in so many levels
The part that was the most fun. The end of the fourth movement. And please don't comment on how it sucks if you have NOT seen this live! No video or audio recording equipment can faithfully reproduce the blaring of 80 or more amps so you miss a lot of the music. This is the best video I've seen of this though. I like around 8:50 when it starts to sound like jets are flying around in The Pageant.
I think that the aural hallucination of jets flying around is probably something that is easy to like, as opposed to the ACTUAL sound of jets flying (which people can, of course, potentially dig).
I loved the ascension but this shit is too deep for me

Airborne Robertson at 6:24 is priceless! ;D
I can't believe how awesome this music is. David Robertson is The Bomb for bringing this kind of music regularly to the concert hall in St. Louis!

Thanks for posting this. I love the David Robertson/Steven Mackey high five right after the piece ends.
