  • ahh love that jazz in the background

  • "Discriminating" writers? Not "discerning"?

  • I had one of those pens but not the solid gold one just a fake. Then the one I had leaked all over me. So don't buy them because their not worth the money between £10 - £35

  • @MileyCyrus12222 what if you buy a 100$ pen?

  • @MileyCyrus12222 You just didn't have a good pen. I have a nice pen for £25 and it doesn't leak for me.

  • man fuck rich people

  • i still use fountain pens..

in Pakistan children are introduced fountain pens in the 4th grade, most of em stop using them after highchool(12th) ..

but i just cant.. fountain pens are more loyal :D

  • They look kinda steampunk O3o

  • I'm a huge fountain pen fan... addict. And I can tell you one thing: whether you're using a steel nib or a gold one (14K, 18K or 21K), your handwriting WILL improve. I can testify to this, it's done miracles for my deteriorating scribbles :D And well... they do look so much more impressive than 'ordinary' pens, don't they? There's something about a fountain pen nib that screams "nostalgia".

  • @fragoleconcrema <3 fountain pens too..

dont u hate it when a comment isnt something against you ? :P

  • @AsadZero2 Hahaha yes. Half of YT comments is mindless trolling and flaming... makes one want to quit commenting altogether.

  • a "mangnifiner" this guy is making up words :L

  • @camyere2k8 magnifier is a word lol

  • yup saw penis too

  • Not "solid gold". -14K is typical and was the standard for most fountain pens, fancy or not, throughout he 20th century.

  • Solid gold?! Are you fucking kidding me.

  • I clicked this cause I was curious at what a fountain penis would look like, whether it would spary up or spary horizontally. sadly, i miss read the title =(

  • never seen a pen like that..

  • you know whats stupid? when a company that makes high end fountain pens makes crappy ink. and in only two colors too...

  • the top comments...

    green...

  • Fountain Penis yeah man

  • I came here because I didn't know what a fountain pen was.

  • I wonder, how many people read Fountain Penis

  • Oh dear. I now have an unquenchable thirst for a fancy fountain pen ; A;

  • omg i read that title so wrong lol

  • @MarcoUCI You do a lot of nice things in Italy. My favourite country. Well, Sweden rocks too.

  • Comment removed

  • Every time I go out some douchebag comes up to me to try to say something clever because I write with a fountain pen. They call me a hipster. I'm not. I've had my fountain pen for more than half of my life, way before most kids my age knew it was cool. [trollface.jpg]

  • @HumaneAnon Glad to know I'm not the only one who uses a fountain pen.

  • @HumaneAnon Try that while smoking a briar pipe.

I, too, feel your pain, Good Sir.

  • the founten pen-is epicly awesome

  • I read penis and wasn't the first one :)

  • @HaoWenXiang: Depending on fountain pens in general I wouldn't call them expensive. Of course pens like in this video are but there are also tousands of cheap ones... Its like a wristwatch. Some are luxury and some arent. Just for example: Like every pupil in Germany at least once had a fountain pen to write. Most of them including me change to other pens later (Im a lefty so I always get in touch with the ink on the paper what makes the stuff Im writing unreadable :P).

  • @LLAW019 As a person who builds furniture, I must inform you that the just because a company uses high end technologies to make their product doesn't make it cheap or lacking in personality. Even as someone who knows little about fountain pens I can tell you from this video that those pens have a hell lot of attention put into them. These type of companies are not looking for economies of scale or price. They make the best objects they can.

  • thought this said fountain penis :L

  • @EdenAfrica So yuh Clicked on it????

  • @EdenAfrica ME TOO...........LOOOL!

  • @EdenAfrica LOL SAME

  • Far cry from the little bamboo pen we used to make in school.

  • i read... fountain penis...

  • @AwesomeDannyTV me too lol

  • I want one of these to look all fancy :D

  • I read "fountain penis"....=(

  • Honestly I thought it said fountain penis... yeah... =\

  • i grew up with fountain pen

we had to write with them in primary man it was awesome

  • we get free pens like those at my private school

  • I clicked this because I thought it said "how its made-fountain penis", and when i saw LLAW019's comment it fit so well. LOL

  • So , in nutshell.

What does this , 200$ pen do?

It costs more than your fucking car.

It runs out of ink faster than ferrari from 0 to 100kmh.

And it starts squirting ink by itself and has a pool party in your 500$ suit.

  • @Turtan4 well no

this pen doesn't cost more than my car (audi a8)

it doesn't run out of ink that fast

and it only squirts ink when somebody shakes it a lot.

and I think that you haven't tried a Fountain Pen so before you speak again go and try one for yourself

  • @Turtan4 A $200 pen costs more than your car, but you have a $500 suit. LOL

  • @Turtan4 A $365 pen used over 10 years would cost you $0.10 a day to use it.

  • @humbertsin1994

Grats , you're millionth to reply to my comment , here. Have this cup of shut the fuck up.

  • Who would dip gold in ink?

  • @MrCroodle I do, every day. Gold is perfect for ink, since it doesn't corrode, and is flexible enough to write with a hint of character to whatever's being written.

  • @MrCroodle I did yesterday. and you know what I liked it

  • /type

  • What kind of pen brand its this

  • @MrStork97 Aurora.

  • I've been using a fountain pen every day for over 15 years (since 1st grade) and they're just so much more comfortable than pens. I never get cramps.

  • those are some hot pens

  • how much are these?

  • @Shareallicu3 That particular pen? About $300. I've seen them at the pen shop I go to.

  • @Shareallicu3 Scratch what I said. It sells at retail for $1000.

  • i like pens...

  • Quality costs. Cost excites. Excitement is the purpose of human life.

  • omg my grandpa is not letting me talk or watch the movie >.< he is so ANNOYING!

  • and how mutch is it ?

  • I did not read: "Fountain Pens" correctly, at first.

  • Discovered the fountain pen two months ago.

Now, they're my only writing tool. I have two packs of Bic pens waiting to be opened for university, but they won't be for a while.

By the way, the pen in the video goes for about $200-$250. Rather middle-of-the-road for FPs.

  • Oooh..... fancy O.O

  • i always find they leak

  • @teresah1982 ikr, nothings worse than a leaking pen......apart from loads of leaking pens

  • @TheMadSam111 What about cancer?

  • @theflash9119 Ballpoint pens can often dry up when using it in your left hand; I'm left-handed and I only use fountain pens

  • i hate being left handed

  • @theflash9119 Im a left handed and im using fountain pens. You only need to get the right ink/writing angle combination.

  • ILL TAKE A PACK OF BICS ANYDAY.

  • Love me some fountain pens. Was kind of sad, though, seeing how those nibs are made. Wish they were making proper flexible nibs these days, in addition to the rigid ones most companies use.

  • this is good advertising, makes me want to splurge on a fine writing specimen

  • reminds me of elementary school, Nuns and all...

  • how did I get here?

  • Instructions for the manufacture of the extremely expensive pen: Don't write these down unless you have one.

The nib must be made of gold.

"Will that not just bend the first time someone writes a full stop?"

Yes, but we reinforce that with an element that rhymes with plutonium.

Now we must make the next piece out of silver.

"Why don't we make that part out of gold?"

Because gold is not strong enough.

The final part must be made of the same plastic all pens are made of.

    "Why?".....

  • @3nasacova Actually many of the fountain pens before the age of ballpoints used flexible nibs. But yeah, they're not really solid gold. Well, technically they are, but they're not "pure" 24k gold.

  • lol i'm not the one for class and queerism. i am for getting the job done quick and efficient and my ball point pen fits the job.

  • in england, we all have one. its not classy, ur just tramps ;)

  • @handyx5 not all lad! one of my mates haven't had any!

  • @keithosmarferrer jippo's?

  • I got one of these as a gift when I got my master's degree <3

  • For a sec I thought it said fountain penis

  • now i too want one! where can i find one that is the question. they cant be more than 50 bucks or i hope not! lolz

  • @l4d2160 You can get a good decent starter pen for around $30 to $50. Either a Waterman Phileas or a fountain pen carried by Office Depot or Office Max for around that price range. Though you should go for a Waterman if possible at that price range. At less than $100 dollars though, all you'll probably find will be the plastic shell, medium steel nib type of pens. Good for a beginner, but you'll start wanting something nicer looking and better nib once you get used to the pens.

  • @l4d2160 If you really don't have the money, you can find "disposable" fountain pens for about $3 to $5 dollars each at one of the stores I mentioned. Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pens are cheap, write quite well, but weren't made to be refilled. Although you can find videos and tutorials of people who have been able to do so. If you do buy a real fountain pen, make sure you get the right ink!!! The ink makes a huge difference! Don't go cheap with ink, get a good pigmented quality bottle.

  • @vitruvian8807 i bought a great luxury fountain pen for just £5.45 and free shipping! just search "AUSTRIAN 2 CRYSTALS BLACK FOUNTAIN PEN 22KGP MEDIUM NIB" on eby!

  • @keithosmarferrer it's what i used at school.

  • @keithosmarferrer and it is refillable, piston filled ink!

  • I would much prefer to see vintage fountain pens made by hand, giving character and personality to each piece. These modern ones are all automatic by robots... and yet they are still so expensive!

  • @LLAW019 actually, well known brands consider it an art and actually do make it by hand. They're a lot more expensive though XD

  • @LLAW019 Robots aren't cheap.

  • @21fretsalute Yes, Robots aren't cheap but they are made for mass production in order to lower the cost. Just like a bic ball point pen, which are also made with robots and yet they are dirt cheap.

  • @LLAW019 Billions of people buy pic pens. Probably a few thousand buy these. Economies of scale.

  • @21fretsalute g, maybe only a few people buy these BECAUSE THEY"RE SO FKING EXPENSIVE. -_-

  • @LLAW019 And if you're watching them being made, how can they be vintage?

  • @21fretsalute That is why I said I prefer seeing them made because I know that is impossible and you can't see these things any more!

Its like saying I much prefer seeing another Austin Powers movie than another teenage vampires saga! I know there isn't one and properly isn't going to be one and I used that to compare with a crap movie I don't want to see.

  • @LLAW019 i would prefer neither since i would loose it in one day...

  • @LLAW019 #firstworldproblems

  • @LLAW019 It's common around the world: Companies find products that are cheap to manufacture, yet easy to sell to a high price.

As long customers don't know how cheap their "luxure items" are, they'll accept it.

  • @sysghost The fact that a fountain pen has only ever been available to people of means (did you notice that it's partially made from silver?) and that barely anybody uses a pencil anymore means that it IS a luxury item. I don't know how you expect "fountain pen" to be equivalent to "cheap".

  • @HaoWenXiang There are real luxury items, and there are fake "luxury" items. Sometimes these fakes are good looking and it's not easy to tell the difference.

The fake luxury items (Not only pens) are more common than you might think. As said: As long as the customer doesn't know about it, who'll complain?

  • Ive never had a fountain pen :( and after this video I want one.
