u know me, u know I'm NOT a big Claypool fan. Alex & Primus..um..NO MATCH FOUND! This guy's used to playing w/Geddy Lee on a regular basis for the last 35 years or so! Him being in the same room w/a band who has a joke, Claypool, for a bass player is almost an insult to his intelligence & musicianship!..But he plays along well & patronizes the band with the charm & personality that's helped make Rush who they are. Good job Alex! No offense to Les but he's NOT a bass player! He's an fx player!
I bought this Animals DVD when it came out.... 5 years ago? Anyway, I was a great Primus fan, and watched this over and over, and I did not know who this man was.
Seasons changed, time passed by. Days became months, months became years, and I really got into Rush and stuff. Then, a couple months ago I blowed the dust of my good ol' Primus DVD, watched this segment again I was like
"THE FUCK, is that Alex Lifeson?? The whole time, on my Primus DVD, the interviewer was Alex Lifeson in disguise."
I was watching some Rush documentary that came out recently and they talked about that. It's just Neil who's like that. It's not that he's a dick, it's just that he's uncomfortable with people idolizing him.
Thanks for changing our tour date to 4/20! Woohoo! Funny, for Snakes and Arrows 2007, I had to go to Houston to see Rush. Counterpartedly, The New Orleans date scheduled for Saturday, April 19th at the New Orleans Arena will be moved to Sunday, April 20th at the same venue. The Houston date originally scheduled for Sunday, April 20th will be held on Saturday, April 19th at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
Alex is pretending to be elton john, with the little gap in the teeth, and calls himself big al after big gay al from south park. Rush watch south park they even had a south park clip made for their snakes and arrows tour, the intro to tom sawyer
In fact the Rush members know the creators of South Park (Trey mostly) and thats where they got it from, it was suppose to be a funny ass joke. Because back in the day when Alex was still young and had his long hair some guy mistaked him as being gay and actually tried to hit on Alex!! LMAO!!
Crazy Alex he's tooo funny!!!! I've always read about him being the more animated one of the three and now to see him being just goofy and funny and real down to earth too. Too cool. Now wonder he's my favorite guitarist (ok, tied with Steve Howe).
wait,...whut r they doin' with Glen Beck ?

The fact that primus, rush and south park (my 3 favorite things) are all friends, makes me happier then a homosexual on hotdog day.

Rush stodgy? Who else have dryers and chicken rotisseries on stage? They may be a little odd, but not stodgy.

I think it's strange that a lot of people think of Rush as stodgy and impersonal. They are actually hilarious.
