I haven't heard of trembitas played at weddings in this area, however, local traditions in the Ukrainian Carpathians vary greatly from village to village and from region to region. I saw a video of a Hutsul wedding from Transcarpatia (Закарпатська область) where someone played a trembita. I am not sure if that was local tradition or the player was hired by someone who did not know traditions but wanted a trembita at his/her wedding.

Have you seen funerals in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA? The old style has a band marching with the deceased in a parade to the cemetery. (There are probably videos on Youtube if you're interested in watching.) This reminds me of that.
