Finally! Someone actually playing on the high register! This is what Reed was known for, yet none of the so-called Jimmy Reed imitators do. Good job! Keep blowin' partner. Nice vocals too. Thanks.
Thanks for the good comments on our sound. We grew up listening to great artists like Jimmy Reed and we try to continue to work on keeping his music alive and well in Dallas Texas.
@rodg1775 Hey it's nice t from you. There is a lot of great blues here in Texas. I'm sure you are missing it. However, I'm sure Japan has a few good blues clubs there, but there is nothing like Texas Blues Music. Bill and I are glad you enjoyed our clips.
If you come to the Dallas area in the future please look us up and come out to one of our shows.
Is the line (now tell me baby , which one us us was your brother ) correct. If so it's hillariousROTFL. Think Jimmy's wife did backround harmony on this song.
I am framat and not Kenttuantti. He is from Finnland and I am from Germany. If you like to hear my music and the animation film then you can click on my name. The film is only 74 seconds. You can hear an instrumental which is no cover of a Jimmy Reed tune but inspired by his music. It would be nice if you could leave a comment. I like a two man band better than a one man band (exception is Jesse Fuller) and you are good.
My favourite Bluesmen are Sam Hopkins and Jimmy Reed, too. We did a little animation of Jimmy Reed for a Jimmy Reed homepage in german language (still to be released). We had to make our own Jimmy Reed music because of the very strict copyrights laws in Germany. Otherwise we would have used the original music. But a Jimmy Reed-Homepage without any music would not be good at all. You did a very fine job.
Yea; my love for Sam & Jimmy are deep. Great artists. Germany did the blues community a big favor in the 1960's when they invited some of the best artists to perform in Germany and video tape them. These are some of the best tapes we have of our favorite blues artists. I watch them frequently.
Glad you liked our performances. Lightin' is my favorite folk blues artist. Great man that Lightin'! We don't get down to Houston very often. Thanks for the nice complements.
Awesome. Normally I dont like this kind of music but I really liked this. If I just heard it and didn't know it was three people I would have assumed it was like four. Very impressive.
hey thanks for the invite, i've wanted to go to texas for as long as i can remember. workin on a waver to get across the border. i live on the border of detroit windsor, marijuana thing from way back makes me inadmissable. have a lot of friends in detroit. wish i could cross. one day i hope to get there. i'll look you up for sure. love your music. fan from canada. lonesome mike.
Texas is a very happening place for both traditional and contemporary blues. We would love to have you visit and listen what we have to offer here in Texas.
Thanks for listening to The Tu-Tones. We love Jimmy Reed. If you are in the Dallas area please look us up. We perform on a regular basis throughout the Dallas area.
I'm a big fan of his too. I never got to see Jimmy Reed in person. It's even difficult to find original film clips of him. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen any.
I enjoyed the sounds a lot! Did you build your own snare stand or can you buy one that mounts like that? What do you use as a pedal?

Gee...thanks for the positive comments.
My Texas accent is playing tricks on you.
It's "which one of us would you ruther".
Jimmy is asking in his song; which would you rather have.....material objects or a "Nature Born Lover"?
Yeah; Mrs. Reed helped a lot during the hard times.
Great song!
Thanks!
