  • @DesignPD do you have 90 degree angle pop up template thing thanks

  • @GeomariVincent I don't create 90° pop up cards very often – there are other artists who make them much better than I could. But I made a list with templates and tutorials, and there are also some tutorials to 90 degree cards. You can find the link in the description beow the video, here on YouTube. Best, Peter

  • @DesignPD thanks a lot (:

  • @AustriaFrom Please read the description below the video. There you will find a link to many tipps and tutorials for the creation of pop ups! Best, Peter

  • @DesignPD how much time it took you to do one of these amaizing things?

  • @Andy40004 It depends on the complexity of the paper sculpture. For most of these pop ups, I needed between 3 and 4 days to create them, but the globe took me more than a week – and when I opened it for the first time, it was damaged. I had to invest two more days to change some technical details. (But since then it works properly for over 22 years now.). Best, Peter

  • your work is AMAZINgggggggggg :O did you use multiple pieces of paper to create it or just one?, its really good!

  • @zHighHeels Many thanks for your praise. Don't confuse my artwork with origami. In classical origami technique, you may only use one sheet of paper, mostly a square. For my pop ups, I sometimes need more than 50 pieces, which are all cut in a special shape. Best, Peter

  • Most excellent. Very talented and skillful.

  • Дайте кто - нибудь ссылку кто делает подобные вещи на рускоязычных сайтах. А то умру от зависти

  • ur so talented !! nice work !!

  • I love it when you open the paper up.

  • always use gloves.. paper could be really dangerous

  • I absolutely LOVE your work!!! The one at :20 looks like a design of Moshe Safdie's for the San Francisco State University Student Union many years ago -- for which I cannot find an image, but which was a MAGNIFICENT unbuilt design.... much better than the one they are now stuck with....

Thank you for sharing these -- they're MAGNIFICENT!!!

  • well thats just great now i feel like i can't do anything at all :-(

  • Omg, you'd be my tutor's favourite student if you submitted these for our portfoio work! She absolutely loves pop ups.

These are absolutely amazing! do you have any tips as to how one could go about designing their own versions of these or were they trial and error processes? because that last one loked damn hard to come up with haha.

I'm an architecture student so anything that I can add into a portfolio would make it so much more interesting. That last pop up just blew my mind :D

  • @thetonginator Many thanks for your praise. I created the pop ups from this video in the year 1989 during my design studies. I designed them them through hours and days of trial and error. Especially working on the "sphere" was frustrating: After a whole week of cutting and assembling, the sculpture broke at the first attemt to open it. I had to change many details, which took me two additional days, but since then, it works well – and it's still working. Best, Peter

  • @DesignPD Wow, thanks for the reply (and fast too :)) and I had a feeling it'd be trial and error. Guess that's just how it goes with design. Trial and error, mistakes then corrections and hours, days and months on projects slowly finalizing the end product.

Wish I could come up with something as amazing as yours someday but hopefully as a proper structure XD

Would love to see your future works and all the best with your current work, whatever that may be :)

  • do you make each design on your own?

  • @tttt637 Yes indeed: I created the sculptures from this video in the year 1989, during my design studies. I completely designed them from scratch, with no help from others and especially without the use of a computer. (At that time I did not even HAVE a computer.) If you want to see more of my artwork, I invite you to my facebook fanpage. Please search for "Peter.Dahmen.Papierdesign" on Facebook. Best, Peter

  • Peter, you are one of those graphic designers who have talent and art in them. I loved all of them to bits. Good Luck

  • @AmmukuttySilverStarz Thank you for your kind comment! Best, Peter

  • ahh......... but does it BLEND!!!!

  • Hola Peter!

  • Their is no word for how cool that is

  • PAPER NOLIFER!

  • the last one, OMG!!

  • Here's an idea you might want to consider. make Pop Up cards for famous Hotels and Land marks. Hotels could buy them in bulk and put them in their Presidential Suits as a freebie.

YOu could make a prototype to sell the product to them. But then the design would have to be simple enough that you could have it mass produced by Dye Cutting at a Print shop.

    Just an idea. Great work!

    Greetings from Iran

  • @saeidmomtahan Many thanks for your comment. I already created pop up cards from existing buildings for serial production. Please have a look at my homepage (peterdahmen.de) or at my facebook fanpage (peter.dahmen.papierdesign). Best regards, Peter

  • So nice pop up sculptures. I like it very much. It is so magic too. Thank for your works.

  • Great video!

  • nice

  • omg i would very much like to buys some of these. By any chance do you sell them?

  • @anthonyyawns Please note, that I need between one and three days to create one single pop up sculpture. If you are seriously interested in buying one of them, please send me a personal message here on YouTube – or send me an E-Mail to: info (at) peterdahmen.de Best, Peter

  • @DesignPD you could make a bit smaller ones with the same concept , so that someone can buy them easier/. ? bet many people would like one! or find way to make them easier?? (assembly etc?)

  • @maryblue75 I created the pop up sculptures from this video to show, what's possible with paper and board. There is no way to make them easier or smaller without changing the effect badly. Yes, indeed, I also create easier pop up cards, (mostly for clients, who want to have their building as a card), but they are too common to be published on youtube. If you want to see more of my artworks, please visit my facebook fanpage. Please search for "peter.dahmen.papierdesign", Best, Peter

Viel erfolg weiterhin.

  • gorgeous - I like the way you lit them to show the dimensions.

  • What's with the gloves?

  • @yoyorahrah I made some tests with and without gloves. The videos with my hands in gloves looked better. That's all.

  • nice

  • mi puoi dare lo schema dell ultimo
