i was trying to figure out an easy way to frame a quarterpipe in 2 peice but these cuts are rediculous and I would never use 2x6's once you frame there ramp there is no point it is way to expensive, and for most people, I can't build a ramp like that for that cost and Sell one. I can make a halfpipe for less than the cost of that, and Sell it for $300 and make a profit. If I was doing indoor applications, I would only use one sheet of thinnest ply $11 and then Sanded ply even thinner $18.
Dude your ramp plans are way toooooo complicated, lumber is way too expensive, you should really delete your video and take your ramp plans down for quarterpipe. I can't believe you had $44 for 2 sheets of plywood. It's 11 per sheet here for the cheapest 4 ply if I'm not mistaken and $13 for thicker thats ENOUGH for framing. Pressure treated 2x4's are only $2 a peice and enough to frame with galvanized ringshank nails and if you want extra support coated deck nails with star tips. Good luck
@shatteredxXxstrings because its slippery on the bottom, two solutions... 1 but it on like gravel. ( what i do is i have a garage, and i put it on the gravel so i ride from the garage floor uppon the jump.)2 put rubber on the bottom :P hope this helps :)
i built this quarter pipe with a couple of other people it costed about $225. it really wasnt that easy. it took like 4 people for us. but it was totally worth it. if you go to the website it gives you step by step directions! i love my quarterpipe! go to my channel if you want videos. i will be posting them soon. message me if you need more info!
how did you make the quarter pipe the perfect way for the side ? because i wanna build wanna but i scared of making it too steep or not enuf ! do you have any special ways ?
@camester1 i'm currently building one off of these plans and what we did was measure 6 1/2 feet on the plywood and then made a compass from the bottom edge of the plywood up 6 1/2 feet and drew the line that way, so if you measure a number higher than 6 1/2 from the bottom edge of the plywood, the less steep it will be, ours is 4 feet tall and we have 6 1/2 feet of space to make a transition up 4 feet.
this looks like a really fun project, but your measurements aren't the greatest, you should spend more time measuring and planning rather than just go hardcore at it for an hour or two building away.
i built mine from this and it actually came out pretty good but keep in mind PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!! that the plywood will never bend that easy the first time and that the masonite will never be spaced that perfect unless you get a carpenter too do it................ soo yea
you know the ramp in the back ground at the beggining.. can you give me the link to where you got the plans from .. or maybe send me to them ... thanks(if you can)
@alliancewithdeath- actually by the looks of it its just alright and then some. it does not need a lot of support if people arent trying to break it haha
@MrHenryiscool pretty slippery but not to much and if you do it just out of wood it will probelly break in 2 or 3 years we used recicled plastic im making a movie i have da wooden one if you wana see it on my channel at the moment
@MJMADNESS23 its called massonite. have you ever been to a indoor skatepark were the halfpipe has this like really slippery surface? thats massonite. it keeps from getting splinters
