WOW!! That was the best intro on Toonami, back in 99-00, for Dragonball Z. That music in the background is so KICKASS. It sounds like a beat Wu Tang would use or something outta evil late night Japan. That was the season of the long fight of Goku and Freza. Awesome intro!!

Yes it did. Around the Ginyu Force segment in planet Namek is when the change from Ocean to Funi took place in America. I remember watching DBZ when it was still Ocean before it's change.

I remember that too. Initially the US only had episodes leading up to the first part of the Ginyu fight and they would start over again with Raditz. They eventually got the rights to the rest of the episodes. I remember that day expecting to see them start all over again but then seeing the next episode in the Ginyu fight and hearing the new voices for the new dub. I was so excited.

Never. After Toonami was disbanded, they still kept Naruto, their best post-DBZ era anime, but then they eventually cancelled that too. With that move, they pretty much closed the door on DBZ making a return.

because Ocean Group lost the license so it automatically went to Funimation and also Funimation brought DBZ uncut at the same time and Ocean Group only did the movies in uncut and edited for Toonami but Funimation actually brought the series in uncut and edited forms
