Usually I leave it in over night, but in the winter I just leave a bottle outside for a few hours

In this video i used spring water you can buy at a grocery store...but you can also used distilled water as well.

Basically, all you do is get distilled water, or spring water and just let it sit outside during a really cold day

Or get some sodium acetate (easy to find at hobby stores), boil it down into some water, then stick it in the fridge overnight.

Next day, take it out, then tap the water with your finger. Ta-da. =]

it doesnt get super hard like ice more like slushy consistency its still pretty cool though

I discovered this the other day. Cleared the car windscreen with antifreeze, turned on the wipers to removed residual then stopped them. A second or two later, from the centre of the screen it all started freezing over again. Annoying but somehow cool. The wipers stopped it spreading though!
