One needs to learn which sources are reliable. As you have already learned, documentaries are not reliable (think about all the documentaries from the History channel or Discovery which feature aliens or ghosts of some sort).

I don't know which channel has it, but now there is a show called Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, where you're supposed to guess if the story is real or not, as if being real were actually a possibility. In being a psychic myself. Sylvia Browne could have been reading someone else. Better results are had by sitting alone with one of the parents. I bet a different more accurate reading would have came out. I read in a conference and was sure the person i was in contact with on the other side was to a woman next to me I was saying certain names and pets names only to find that a man was crying way down the other side of the big oval table. In being a psychic myself. Sylvia Browne could have been reading someone else. Better results are had by sitting alone with one of the parents. I bet a different more accurate reading would have came out. I read in a conference and was sure the person i was in contact with on the other side was to a woman next to me I was saying certain names and pets names only to find that a man was crying way down the other side of the big oval table. I wouldn't condemn Mrs. Browne just yet.

The problem here, is that she has gotten greedy with this, which makes her a fraud in my eyes. It scared me for 3 years and then we accepted it. I have always had my door "open"...but I was scared shitless...seriously. Once I got into it more, I realized that the spirit world is far from scary. They're very loving in fact.

I remember reading in a skeptics magazine (I forget which), that in places like California, there are multimillion dollar scams where companies bill the state to provide their New Age healing courses to nurses who are required to show they have gone for additional training.
